We partner with clients across industries to solve complex business problems, modernize legacy systems, and drive measurable outcomes. At Kaizen, we combine deep technical expertise with a collaborative, people-first culture focused on continuous improvement. Our teams work at the intersection of strategy, technology, and execution to deliver solutions that make a real impact.

Job Overview
The Scrum Master facilitates delivery ceremonies and processes across the Client's hybrid delivery environment — which blends Agile (Scrum), Waterfall, and Kanban practices — to support disciplined, transparent, and predictable delivery. Acting as a servant leader, this role removes impediments, coordinates dependencies across teams, and partners closely with the Product Manager to protect backlog readiness and work-commitment integrity across delivery methodologies. The Scrum Master also serves as a key supporter of the technical delivery team, drives project logistics and resource alignment, supports the Client's ongoing migration to Azure DevOps (ADO), and champions adherence to the Client's governance standards and Agile best practices in support of the Client's strategic business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ceremony & Process Facilitation Across Methodologies: Facilitate Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives) alongside Kanban board management and Waterfall-aligned status checkpoints and stage-gate reviews, tailoring facilitation to the delivery methodology in use for each team or workstream.
  • Impediment Removal & Cross-Team Coordination: Remove delivery impediments by actively managing dependencies, resolving blockers, and coordinating cross-team efforts to keep delivery on track.
  • Backlog Readiness & Delivery Partnership: Partner with the Product Manager to support backlog readiness, protect work-commitment integrity across Agile, Waterfall, and Kanban workstreams, and drive predictable delivery outcomes.
  • Azure DevOps (ADO) Migration Support: Support the Client's ongoing transition to Azure DevOps by assisting with backlog, board, and workflow migration; configuring and maintaining ADO boards to reflect Agile, Kanban, and Waterfall workstreams; and supporting team onboarding, training, and reporting as the Client moves off its legacy tooling.
  • Budget, Risk & Stakeholder Reporting: Monitor and work with Product Manager and Engagement Lead to report on scope, status and risk, ensuring transparent stakeholder communication and proactive risk mitigation.
  • Technical Liaison/Support: Serve as a liaison to the technical teams to maintain alignment with the Client's goals and priorities.
  • Governance & Standards Compliance: Champion adherence to the Client's standards, policies, and governance processes — including the Product Delivery Process (PDP) and change control — while promoting Agile best practices.
  • Strategic Alignment & Project Success: Maintain a strong focus on overall project success and alignment with the Client's business objectives, ensuring delivery outcomes support strategic goals.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3+ years of experience serving as a Scrum Master or Delivery Facilitator on software delivery or technology projects.
  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or equivalent Agile certification.
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating delivery in hybrid environments that blend Agile (Scrum), Waterfall, and Kanban methodologies, and the ability to tailor ceremonies and reporting to fit each.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills, with experience managing scheduling, dependencies, and resource alignment across teams.
  • Working proficiency with Azure DevOps (ADO) with the ability to quickly ramp up on Client ADO environment — including boards, backlogs, and reporting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate between technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • Experience monitoring project budget, scope, and risk, with a track record of proactive risk mitigation and transparent reporting.
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal oversight, exercising sound judgment to keep delivery moving in ambiguous or fast-changing situations.
  • Demonstrated team leadership skills, with the ability to guide, motivate, and hold cross-functional teams accountable without formal authority.
