What You’ll Do
The Sales Support Specialist serves as the operational expert supporting Dearfoams' largest strategic retail accounts. This role owns the day-to-day execution of Walmart U.S., Walmart.com, Walmart Canada, Walmart Mexico and Target operational processes, partnering closely with Sales, Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Sourcing, Marketing and Customer Service teams to ensure flawless execution from product setup through purchase order fulfillment.
The ideal candidate is an experienced retail operations professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is comfortable communicating directly with retailer partners, and can independently manage complex operational issues with minimal oversight. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to balance competing priorities while maintaining a high level of customer service.
Specific Responsibilities
- Serves as the primary operational support for Walmart U.S., Walmart.com, Walmart Canada, and Walmart Mexico, ensuring accurate and timely execution of all account-related operational activities.
- Manages purchase order creation, maintenance, and retailer system updates, including writing purchase orders, bridging orders, communicating changes, and resolving purchase order discrepancies.
- Partners directly with Walmart merchants, planners, and operational contacts to resolve purchase order issues, product setup questions, compliance requirements, and other day-to-day account needs.
- Owns the end-to-end item setup process, including retailer quotes, product data management, PDP creation, Supplier One maintenance, Styles Live activities, shipper setup, and product attribute updates.
- Manages the complete product sampling process, coordinating sample requests, tracking deliveries, supporting retailer meetings, and ensuring timely execution across internal and external partners.
- Serves as the operational expert throughout the product lifecycle by researching and resolving issues related to product setup, style and color accuracy, retailer systems, purchase orders, commitments, web content, sourcing, and production.
- Monitors operational performance metrics, including OTIF, chargebacks, compliance, and retailer scorecards, while coordinating dispute resolution and communicating issues to internal stakeholders.
- Partners closely with Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Sales, Marketing, Sourcing, Customer Service, and Finance to coordinate order execution, inventory management, and seasonal business priorities.
- Prepares and submit Walmart-specific documentation and system updates, including SSOs, PNEWs, international quotes, and other retailer-required operational processes.
- Provides size curve recommendations, reporting, and operational insights that support customer planning and inventory optimization.
- Maintains expertise in Walmart operational systems, retailer requirements, compliance standards, packaging guidelines, and shipping processes while proactively communicating changes to cross-functional teams.
- Prioritizes multiple competing deadlines with a strong sense of urgency while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Represents Dearfoams professionally in customer meetings, conference calls, and written communications, exercising sound judgment and building trusted relationships with both retailer partners and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of retail operations, customer operations, account support or sales operations experience.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, formulas and large dataset management.
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities with exceptional attention to detail.
- Proven ability to work independently and exercise sound business judgment.
- Experience working cross-functionally in a fast-paced retail or consumer products environment.
- Walmart supplier experience, including Supplier One, Retail Link or Walmart operational systems.
- Experience supporting major national retailers.
- Consumer products or wholesale industry experience.
- Product setup and item management experience.
