Safety Specialist

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Safety Specialist with gas transmission experience to join our team.  

This role is 100% travel, daily truck pay, and per diem is offered.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of gas transmission pipelines, facilities, and equipment.
• Identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards.
• Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and training programs.
• Investigate incidents and accidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address safety issues.
• Monitor and track safety performance metrics and make recommendations for improvement.
• Stay current on industry best practices and regulations related to gas transmission safety.
• Develop emergency response plans and participate in emergency drills and exercises.
• Travel extensively to various gas transmission sites in Georgia and Kentucky.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in gas transmission pipeline safety.
• Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and standards (e.g. OSHA, PHMSA).
• Strong understanding of gas transmission operations and equipment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Willingness to travel extensively and work in various locations.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Prior experience with emergency response and incident investigation is a plus.
