Charles Taylor is a highly successful global provider of professional services to the insurance industry. We are seeking an experienced Risk Claim Specialist to join our team. This role is available as either a hybrid or fully remote position, based on the selected candidate's geographic location.
Candidate must be Wisconsin resident.
Position Summary
The Risk Management Specialist is responsible for providing vital assistance in the development and administration of a comprehensive risk management and safety program in fulfillment of duties under the General Administration Agreement with the Wisconsin County Mutual Group. For individual Members and the Group collectively, these programs identify, evaluate, prevent, and mitigate losses to reduce their frequency and severity while keeping people safe.
Essential Functions
- Conducts research in areas of regulatory safety/risk management compliance, mitigation techniques, and related subject matter in response to inquiries or consultation efforts
- Assists Risk Management Consultant team with loss run data analytics, including creating summaries and trends. Develops benchmarks using public-sector data and Experience Modification Factor (Mod) reports.
- Provides operational support for large-scale programmatic events for the benefit of all Members (i.e. Highway Safety Days, Workers’ Compensation Check-Up Webinar Series)
- Develop interactive and impactful training presentations
- Prepares Member Services Reports, summarizing and documenting activities and various touches, including meetings, phone conversations, emails, training, consultations, and action plans
- Regularly communicates and collaborates with Claims and Underwriting teams – accepting direction to ‘hot-spot’ issues or providing knowledge gathered in the daily work for their benefit
- Collaborate with the Client Services team; advising others in areas of expertise, sharing information and knowledge
- Maintains confidentiality to external sources regarding losses and challenging situations, except for those in a need-to-know situation, such as attorneys or agents
- Attends and coordinates company presence at conventions, conferences, and events to learn, and interact with Members, agency-partners, and peers
- Interacts and is involved with various professional organizations and statewide associations – networking with Members and industry peers
- Intrastate travels approximately 75% of the time to insured locations as well as conferences and events within the state of WI. Overnight requirements are around 2-5 days per month.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Strong customer service orientation, willingness to “roll up your sleeves”
- Proficiency in entire Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint or other presentation software
- Effective presentation skills to all levels of employees
- Familiarity with regulatory agencies and inspection processes
- Awareness and proactively staying abreast of current trends affecting workplaces
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Maintains confidentiality, to external sources, in regard to losses and difficulties, with exception of those in a need-to-know situation such as attorneys or agents

Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
Preferred Experience
- Industrial hygiene experience
- Prior experience in commercial insurance
- Prior experience working with public sector
- Prior experience in construction
