The analyst is responsible for the end-to-end administration, reconciliation, and processing of commission payments for ACA and Medicare products. This includes resolving payment discrepancies, calculating monthly payouts, and partnering with Finance and Sales to improve processes.
Role Overview: The Retail Sales Commissions Analyst serves as a critical operational and financial resource, responsible for the end-to-end administration, processing, reconciliation, and analysis of commission payments for Affordable Care Act (ACA) Exchange/Marketplace and Medicare products.
Work Arrangement:
- Fully remote position with the flexibility to work from anywhere within the United States.
- Standard work schedule aligns with Eastern Time (EST) business hours.
- Reliable high-speed internet is required to support daily job responsibilities, with a minimum of 50 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload speeds.

Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate, timely commission reconciliation while supporting agent and carrier relationships and providing reporting insights that strengthen commission processes and financial accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve commission issues, including missing payments, retroactive adjustments, chargebacks, enrollment corrections, and compensation exceptions.
- Identify root causes of payment variances and implement solutions that improve efficiency, reduce recurring issues, and maintain alignment of commission systems, databases, and documentation with internal controls, audits, and applicable healthcare regulations.
- Calculate and process monthly commission payouts under ACA and Medicare compensation plans.
- Apply commission rules to individual and team performance data.
- Reconcile differences among commission reports, carrier reports, and internal compensation models.
- Prepare and distribute commission statements and respond to agent inquiries and reconciliation requests.
- Maintain and enhance commission-tracking tools, spreadsheets, and process documentation.
- Conduct ad hoc analysis on commission trends, performance metrics, and payout accuracy.
- Partner with Sales, Finance, and Accounts Payable to support business goals and process improvements.
- Support compliance with regulatory requirements and internal audit standards.
Education & Experience:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- 2 years of experience in commission analysis, sales compensation, financial operations, commission processing, or a related analytical role.
- Experience supporting ACA or Medicare commission programs preferred.
- Experience in calculating, processing, reconciling, and auditing commission payments.
- Proven ability to research, investigate, and resolve commission discrepancies, including missing payments, chargebacks, retroactive adjustments, enrollment corrections, and compensation exceptions.
- Experience working with carrier compensation reports, enrollment data, and internal financial records.
- Advanced experience in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, formulas, data analysis, and reporting.
- Experience using commission management systems, carrier portals, or industry tools such as APM (SAP), Evolve NXT, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of healthcare insurance products, broker/agent compensation structures, and commission payment processes.
- Experience working with large datasets and performing detailed financial and operational analysis.
- Knowledge of auditing practices, internal controls, regulatory requirements, and documentation standards.
