About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly technical Resident Engineer to support large-scale service provider network environments. This is a customer-facing role focused on network routing and switching, operational support, network automation, and DevOps.

The ideal candidate will have strong service provider networking experience combined with hands-on automation skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex production environments.

What You'll Do

• Provide technical operational support for large-scale service provider network environments. 
• Troubleshoot complex routing, switching, hardware, software, and network performance issues. 
• Support network operations, maintenance, upgrades, migrations, and major changes. 
• Analyze network issues, identify root causes, and develop effective corrective actions. 
• Work closely with engineering, operations, and technical stakeholders to resolve escalated issues. 
• Support network architecture, implementation, and operational best practices. 
• Develop and maintain network automation solutions to improve consistency, efficiency, and reliability. 
• Use scripting and DevOps practices to automate network configuration, validation, monitoring, and troubleshooting. 
• Integrate automation into existing network operational workflows. 
• Develop technical documentation, procedures, and troubleshooting guides. 
• Participate in technical discussions and communicate complex networking concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
• Help identify opportunities to improve network reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

What We're Looking For

• Strong hands-on experience with service provider routing and switching. 
• Experience supporting large-scale production network environments. 
• Strong troubleshooting and operational support experience. 
• Experience with network automation and DevOps methodologies. 
• Scripting/programming experience used to automate network operations. 
• Ability to develop practical automation solutions that integrate with existing operational processes. 
• Strong understanding of routing, switching, IP networking, and service provider technologies. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with engineering and operations teams. 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
• Comfortable working in high-pressure production and escalation environments.
