Purpose of Position
This research assistant will support investigators in various research-related activities, providing essential assistance for grant activities.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with participant recruitment, community outreach and preparation of recruitment materials for a community-based participatory action research project
- Support participant orientation sessions
- Coordinate and support data collection activities, including interviews and focus groups
- Support qualitative data analysis
- Assist with photo exhibition preparation and coordination
- Maintain organized research documentation
- Assist with literature reviews, reference management and manuscript/presentation preparation
- Assist in preparing and submitting IRB applications
- Assist in preparing and submitting grant proposals
- Attend meetings with PI and other colleagues, as needed
Required Competencies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High level of organizational skills to assist with research activities in a timely manner
- Creativity in thinking and initiative
- Ability to interact well with diverse populations, including faculty and staff
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, public health, nursing, biology, criminal justice, law or a related discipline (Summer 2026 graduates will be considered)
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
