BACKGROUND:

The World Food Programme (WFP) is supporting emergency response efforts following the earthquakes that affected several areas of Venezuela. The scale and complexity of the response have generated a significant increase in information management requirements and reporting obligations to internal and external stakeholders, including management, regional bureaux, headquarters, United Nations partners, donors, and government counterparts.

To strengthen the Country Office's reporting and information management capacity during the emergency response, WFP seeks an Operational Information Management and Performance Reports Consultant to support the collection, consolidation, analysis, visualization, and dissemination of operational information and performance data.

The consultant will contribute to ensuring timely, accurate, and evidence-based reporting to facilitate decision-making, resource mobilization, accountability, and effective coordination of emergency activities.

PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

Provide operational information management and reporting support to the Partnerships Unit by consolidating data from multiple functional areas and producing high-quality reports, dashboards, situation updates, briefing materials, and analytical products that support emergency response coordination and stakeholder engagement.

Position will be homebased and reports to the Partnerships Officer in CYL Venezuela.

KEY RESPONSABILITIES:

Information Management

  • Collect, organize, validate, and consolidate operational data from different functional units involved in the emergency response.
  • Maintain information repositories and tracking systems to ensure data consistency, accessibility, and accuracy.
  • Support the development and maintenance of operational dashboards, reporting tools, trackers, and information products.
  • Monitor key operational indicators and identify data gaps or inconsistencies requiring follow-up.

Reporting and Performance Monitoring

  • Prepare regular situation reports (SITREPs), operational updates, performance reports, talking points, briefing notes, and presentations.
  • Support the production of internal and external reports required by CYL Venezuela management, LACRO, HQ, donors, UN agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Develop visualizations, infographics, tables, and analytical summaries to facilitate understanding of operational achievements and challenges.
  • Contribute to emergency reporting requirements by ensuring timely compilation and quality control of information received from technical units.

Coordination and Stakeholder Support

  • Liaise with programme, logistics, procurement, finance, HR, communications, security, and other relevant units to obtain and validate information.
  • Support information requests received from senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in coordination meetings and capture key action points and reporting requirements.
  • Contribute to strengthening reporting processes and information-management workflows during the emergency response.

Knowledge Management

  • Maintain organized records of reports, presentations, briefing materials, and operational updates.
  • Support the development of templates, standard operating procedures, and guidance materials related to reporting and information management.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and documentation of response achievements, lessons learned, and best practices.

Deliverables

The consultant will deliver:

  • Consolidated operational information trackers and databases.
  • Weekly and/or ad hoc situation reports.
  • Management dashboards and performance reporting products.
  • Donor reporting inputs and operational updates.
  • Briefing packages and presentation materials.
  • Information management tools and documentation that improve reporting efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Education:             University degree in one or more of the following fields: Information Management, Statistics, Economics, International Relations, Business Administration, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Data Analytics, Other related fields.

Experience:           Minimum three (3) year of relevant professional experience in information management, reporting, monitoring and evaluation, programme support, partnerships, data analysis, or related areas.

Experience supporting humanitarian or emergency operations is desirable.

Experience preparing analytical reports, dashboards, presentations, and information products is highly desirable.

Previous experience with UN agencies, international organizations, NGOs, or development partners is an asset.

Languages:           Fluency in Spanish (oral and written). Working knowledge of English (oral and written).
