Reporting Developer

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

The Reporting Developer/Analyst is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining interactive dashboards and data visualisations using Microsoft Power BI. This remote role will support various departments by turning complex data into actionable insights through dynamic dashboards and reports. The role ensures accurate, accessible, and timely reporting that supports strategic and operational decision-making across the business.

Specific Duties

•Power BI Development

•Design, build, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports.

•Create custom visualisations which support business decision-making.

•Data Integration & ETL

•Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from multiple software systems (e.g., CRM, ERP, financial tools).

•Ensure accurate and reliable data connections using APIs, Excel, SQL, or cloud services.

•Collaboration & Analysis

•Work closely with departments including operations, finance, and project management to gather data requirements.

•Analyse trends to generate meaningful insights across business units.

•Data Modelling & Accuracy

•Design and implement efficient data models to support business intelligence goals.

•Ensure data integrity, consistency, and accuracy across all reports.

•Enablement

•Document processes and develop SOPs for report usage and data handling.

•Continuous Improvement

•Recommend enhancements to reporting processes and BI best practices.

Qualifications and Experience

•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field (or equivalent experience).

•Proven experience with Microsoft Power BI, including DAX and Power Query.

•Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.

•Strong skills in SQL and understanding of data warehousing and relational databases.

•Proficiency in ETL processes, data modelling, and creating data flows across platforms.

•Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.

•Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

•Experience managing data from multiple software platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Pronto, custom APIs).

•Knowledge of data governance, security, and best practices.

•Experience working with mining industry data or other specialised industries is highly desirable
