The Part-Time Remote Computed Tomography (CT) Instructor is responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality live instruction to students via virtual platforms. This role involves teaching the theoretical knowledge, principles, and safety protocols of Computed Tomography, preparing students for certification exams and entry into clinical practice. The instructor will leverage virtual classroom tools and learning management systems to foster an interactive and effective online learning environment.
This is a part-time, contract, hourly position, with hours varying based on the course schedule and departmental needs.
Examples of Duties:
- Deliver live, synchronous online lectures and instructional sessions to students using web conferencing platforms.
- Develop and prepare digital lesson plans, course outlines, and supplemental teaching materials that adhere to program and accreditation guidelines.
- Create engaging and interactive course content, activities, and assessments to support student learning and critical thinking in a virtual environment.
- Develop, prepare assignments, and projects to evaluate student academic performance and provide timely feedback.
- Facilitate discussion boards, respond to student inquiries within a timely manner, and provide academic advising and mentoring remotely.
- Maintain accurate student records, including attendance and performance documentation within the assigned Learning Management System (LMS).
- Curriculum development and evaluation to ensure the program meets current industry standards and student needs.
- Stay abreast of new developments and changes in the field of Computed Tomography.
- Ensure the online classroom environment is conducive to learning and appropriate for student development.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of an Associate degree from a regionally accredited institution; a Bachelor's degree or higher is preferred.
- Current certification and registration in Radiography (ARRT (R)) and an advanced certification in Computed Tomography (ARRT (CT)) are required. State licensure may also be required depending on location.
- A minimum of two (2) years of full-time clinical experience as a practicing CT Technologist. Prior online teaching or training experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in using learning management systems (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard), web conferencing tools (e.g., Zoom, MS Teams), and other relevant digital imaging software and virtual teaching platforms.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong time management and organizational abilities, and the capacity to motivate and engage students in a remote setting.
- Access to a reliable computer, high-speed internet connection, and a secure, quiet workspace suitable for professional remote instruction.
The completion of a background check will be required for the selected candidate.
Compensation: Compensation is determined by a variety of criteria, including but not limited to, previous relevant experience, education level, and certifications. The hourly pay for this position is $50.
