Manage end-to-end release planning and execution for data and BI teams, including the creation of SOPs and deployment checklists. Act as the primary liaison between engineering teams and L1/L2/L3 support to ensure smooth go-lives and incident resolution.
Roles & Responsibilities Release Planning & Execution
- Plan, coordinate, and manage releases across data and BI teams
- Maintain the release calendar and communicate timelines to stakeholders.
- Track release readiness, manage dependencies, and drive go/no-go decisions.
- Coordinate deployments across Dev, QA, UAT, and Production environments.
Documentation & Process
- Create and maintain Release SOPs, runbooks, deployment checklists, and rollback plans.
- Develop and enforce documentation standards for data releases, pipelines, and BI reports.
- Author process guidelines for change management, version control, and release approvals.
- Maintain up-to-date release notes and post-deployment summaries for stakeholders.
Support Team Collaboration (L1 / L2 / L3)
- Act as the primary bridge between engineering/delivery teams and L1, L2, L3 support.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer to support teams prior to each release.
- Ensure support runbooks and escalation paths are updated for every release.
- Track and triage post-release incidents and coordinate resolution with the appropriate support tier.
Agile & Delivery
- Participate in sprint planning, retrospectives, and release reviews.
- Maintain release backlogs and track items through the Agile delivery cycle.
- Identify and mitigate release risks; escalate blockers proactively.
Key Skills
- 3–6 years of experience in release management or a delivery/coordination role.
- Hands-on experience managing data or BI releases (migrations, ETL, pipelines, reports).
- Proven ability to write clear SOPs, process guides, runbooks, and technical documentation.
- Experience working with L1, L2, and L3 support teams in a structured ITSM environment.
- Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum — ceremonies, sprint rhythms, and release trains.
- Familiarity with data modernization concepts: cloud migration, data warehousing, BI platforms.
- Strong communication skills — able to translate technical details for non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficient in JIRA, Confluence, ServiceNow, or similar tools.
Good to Have
- ★ Insurance domain experience
- ★ Exposure to USCIS or government data programs and compliance requirements.
- ★ Experience with cloud platforms: AWS, Snowflake
- ★ Knowledge of BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI
- ★ Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps release practices.
- ★ ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent.
- ★ Experience in managed services or outsourced delivery models.
