ABOUT OUR CLIENT:

Our client is a full-service 401(k) recordkeeper, third-party administrator (TPA), and registered investment advisor (RIA). They partner with plan sponsors, advisors, and payroll providers to deliver accurate, compliant, and efficient retirement plan administration. They aim to deliver a white-glove service to our clients and plan participants through fast, high-quality responses and proactive communication, leveraging technology to empower their people to do their best work.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

The Relationship Manager (RM) serves as the primary point of contact for Plan Sponsors, Adopting Employers, and Investment Advisors, and functions as the quarterback of the overall client relationship. The RM is expected to operate with a consultative, advisory approach, combining technical retirement plan knowledge with proactive relationship management, and is accountable for the client's overall experience.

The RM manages an assigned book of business and is expected to operate with extreme urgency, strong ownership, and disciplined follow-through across every client interaction.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Compliance Testing & Contribution Communication

  • Deliver compliance testing results and contribution calculations prepared by Consultants; serve as the client's point of contact for related questions

Fiduciary File Delivery

  • Review the annual, system-generated fiduciary file (Broadridge/SRT) and prepare talking points and plan design observations prior to the client meeting
  • Deliver the fiduciary file in a client meeting, using the opportunity to demonstrate value and discuss plan design changes that support the sponsor's goals
  • Document fiduciary file meetings and resulting follow-ups in the CRM

Year-End Data Collection

  • Serve as the client's point of contact for questions related to the automated year-end data request
  • Follow up on outstanding or incomplete client submissions

Enrollment Meetings

  • Lead initial enrollment meetings for onboarding (new) plans
  • Lead ongoing enrollment meetings for active plans

Issue Triage & Resolution Ownership

  • Perform high-level research and triage of client-reported issues (e.g., payroll issues, reporting errors), resolving where possible or handing off to Support or Compliance with appropriate context
  • For issues requiring assistance, convene the appropriate internal parties, drive the issue to resolution, and communicate the outcome back to the client

Plan Terminations & Amendments

  • Coordinate plan terminations for assigned clients
  • Initiate plan amendments based on client requests, ideally driven by plan design improvements the RM has proactively identified

Service Agreement & Fee Communication

  • Serve as the client's resource for questions regarding the Client Service Agreement, including fees and the scope of services

Client Touch Points

  • Maintain regular touch point meetings with clients, with particular emphasis on the largest revenue-producing relationships

Note: Each responsibility above includes related administrative sub-tasks (data entry, documentation, scheduling, and routine follow-up), which the RM is expected to perform directly in the current model.

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience working with retirement plans
  • ASPPA credentials preferred (QKA, QPA, CPC, or equivalent)
  • Working knowledge of non-discrimination testing
  • Strong understanding of plan document provisions
  • Awareness of current legislative and regulatory developments affecting retirement plans
  • Thorough understanding of Client Service Agreement terms, including fee structure and scope of services
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, suited to client-facing consultative meetings
  • Ability to manage competing priorities across a book of approximately 160 plans

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Direct hire
  • 100% Remote
  • Less than 10% travel annually (if at all)
  • Compensation: $90-$100k annually plus 10% bonus opportunity
  • Full benefits including retirement, PTO, medical, dental, vision, etc.
