What is Sylvera anyway? ‍👩‍👨🌳

Sylvera helps organisations make confident decisions in carbon and commodity markets. We independently assess the quality of carbon projects, track market pricing and supply signals, and provide geospatial and carbon intensity data — giving our clients the clarity they need to invest in real climate action.

We're a team of 130+ scientists, engineers, and market experts based across London, New York, São Paulo, Singapore, and Tokyo. Our work spans market intelligence, geospatial analytics, multi-scale lidar research, and policy analysis. We partner with governments and policymakers to raise the bar for transparency and rigour across carbon markets.

Backed by over $96 million from investors including Fidelity, Balderton Capital, Index Ventures, and Insight Partners, we're trusted by Fortune 500 companies, major financial institutions, and governments worldwide.

If you care about climate, enjoy solving hard problems, and want to work with people who take the mission seriously — we'd love to hear from you.

What will I be doing? ‍‍👩‍💻👨‍💻

Reporting to the Head of Legal, you will be responsible for embedding and maintaining the governance arrangements expected of an authorised ESG rating provider, supporting Sylvera’s ongoing regulatory obligations, working closely with the global team to address regulatory issues and ensure compliance.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Act as a primary point of contact with ESMA and manage regulatory correspondence, notifications and information requests;

  • Monitor developments in the ESG Ratings Regulation, associated Delegated Regulations and ESMA guidelines, and assess their impact on Sylvera;

  • Develop, maintain and enforce compliance policies, procedures and monitoring programmes, including periodic assessments;

  • Maintain appropriate records to demonstrate compliance to ESMA on request;

  • Identify, manage, mitigate and disclose actual and potential conflicts of interest and maintain a conflicts of interest register;

  • Deliver training to relevant staff on regulatory obligations and policies and monitor compliance internally; and

  • Promote a culture of compliance across the Irish entity and the wider Sylvera group.

  • Experience designing and implementing effective systems and controls for regulatory and governance.

  • Experience of engaging with a regulator.

  • Strong drafting, verbal, analytical and stakeholder-management skills.

  • Ability to work autonomously while collaborating with a global team.
