SUMMARY

Responsible for all sales activities in assigned accounts or regions. Manage quality and consistency of product and service delivery.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Builds       and maintains a network of sources from which to identify new sales       leads.
  • Communicates       with customers and leads to identify and understand their product or service       needs; identifies and suggests products and services to meet those needs.
  • Demonstrates       the functions and utility of products or services to customers based on       their needs.
  • Ensures       customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship       management; resolves any issues that may arise post-sale.
  • Maintains       communication with existing and previous customers, alerting them of new       products, services, and enhancements that may be of interest.
  • Maintains       detailed reports of sales activities including calls, orders, sales, lost       business, and any customer or vendor relationship problems.
  • Provides       periodic territory sales forecasts.
  • Performs       other duties as assigned. 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Participate       in marketing events such as seminars, trade shows, and telemarketing       events. 
  • Follow-up       for collection of payment. 
  • Coordinate       shipping schedules and delivery of merchandise and services.
  • Provide       on-the-job training to new sales employees. 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS 

  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. 
  • Ability to persuade and influence others. Ability to develop and deliver presentations. Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Knowledge of advertising and sales promotion techniques. 
  • Visibility requires maintaining a professional appearance and providing a positive company image to the public. 
  • Work requires significant local travel to current and potential clients. This requires the possession of a valid state driver’s license within 60 days of employment. 
  • Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule and occasional overnight travel. 

EXPERIENCE

  • These job skills and traits are normally acquired through a combination of the completion of a bachelor’s degree and three to five years of sales or marketing experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times. 
  • Must be able to travel.

Language Skills:  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, industry standards, as well as product specification manuals. Ability to author routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, vendors, or employees of our organization.

Mathematical Skills:  Ability to apply concepts of basic math.

Computer Skills:  To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel software. Sales Manufacturing software experience is desirable.
