The Role

At Sovos, we're looking for a Python Developer Junior to join our Product Development team and help us build high-value solutions that solve real customer problems. You'll work across the full software lifecycle, collaborating with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to deliver quality software that meets both functional and technical standards.

More specifically, you will:

• Participate actively in all stages of the software development lifecycle, including planning, stand-ups, and story refinement sessions.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Product Owners, Quality Assurance, Experience Design, and other technical staff to refine requirements and designs throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain programs that adhere to Sovos coding standards and conventions, leveraging AI-assisted tools to improve code quality and efficiency.
• Work on cross-functional teams to deliver solutions from inception through customer delivery, pairing effectively with both junior and senior developers.
• Triage and resolve engineering escalations, troubleshooting issues and bugs within your area of expertise.
• Continuously improve processes, standards, and practices while building expertise in at least one technical domain (such as database, web development, or enterprise systems).

What You Bring to Sovos

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience in a related field.
• You've gained solid foundational experience in software development (typically 6-12 months or more), ideally with Python and SQL.
• Is a plus if you have worked with Linux.
• You're comfortable with test-driven development (TDD) and continuous integration (CI) practices, and open to leveraging AI tools to enhance your development workflow.
• You communicate complex technical concepts clearly and work effectively with teammates, colleagues, and customers.
• You're able to concentrate, analyze, and resolve complex problems using a systematic approach.
