About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated intern to join the Public Policy & Government Engagement team. The role sits at the intersection of AI, public policy, governance, and public-sector innovation.

The intern will work closely on research, analysis, and writing related to AI governance, AI adoption, digital public infrastructure, government technology initiatives, and opportunities for deploying AI in public service delivery. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on AI governance, AI regulation, responsible AI, and emerging technology policy developments in India and globally.
  • Track policy developments across central ministries, state governments, regulatory bodies, and international organizations.
  • Identify opportunities for AI integration across government programmes and public service delivery sectors such as healthcare, education, agriculture, livelihoods, social welfare, and climate resilience.
  • Analyze government schemes, missions, and policy priorities to identify potential AI use cases and implementation pathways.
  • Prepare policy briefs, research notes, presentations, stakeholder profiles, and strategic memos.
  • Support the development of concept notes, proposals, and thought leadership pieces on AI and public policy.
  • Monitor developments in AI safety, evaluation frameworks, foundation models, digital public infrastructure, and multilingual AI.
  • Conduct stakeholder mapping and background research for engagements with government, academia, industry, and civil society.

Eligibility

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Public Policy, Law, Economics, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in AI, technology policy, governance, and public affairs.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Ability to synthesize large amounts of information into concise and actionable insights.
