Overview

LMI is seeking a highly organized dand adaptable Public Health Project Specialist to support complex federal public healht, preparedness, and medical operations programs. The ideal candidate combines public health or operational planning experience with exceptional attention to detail, strong professional writing, and the ability to manage interconnected, time-sensitive activities. This role requires someone who can work independently, commuicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, and understand how individual tasks support broader program objectives. This is an Onsite position at the client site, located in Washington, DC. Remote candidates will be considered. The candidate must have an active Secret security clearance and be able to obtain DHS suitability.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and programmatic support for public health, emergency preparedness, response, and medical operations initiatives.
  • Analyze program needs and system issues and assist with developing requirements, plans, and practical solutions.
  • Develop and update concepts of operations, response plans, guidance documents, exercises, training materials, and standard operating procedures.
  • Coordinate personnel suitability, security processing, onboarding, and offboarding activities.
  • Maintain accurate trackers, templates, checklists, records, and supporting documentation.
  • Communicate professionally with security offices, contractors, vendors, program personnel, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and advance time-sensitive actions.
  • Prepare recurring reports, leadership updates, meeting notes, correspondence, and summaries of program activities and accomplishments.
  • Track assignments, action items, deadlines, and decisions using task-management systems.
  • Monitor and report relevant public health notifications and operational developments.
  • Support frontline health and medical activities, including child well-being and mass-migration operations.
  • Review existing processes and recommend improvements to workflows, documentation, and knowledge-management resources.
  • Participate in program and management meetings to maintain awareness of priorities, dependencies, and emerging requirements.

Qualifications

  • Masters or Bachelors degree in public health, environmental science, emergency management/preparedness or related field.
  • At least 4 years experience (Masters) or 8 years experience (Bachelors) working in public health, preparedness and/or response with at least 4 years’ experience designing and implementing exercises involving public health programs/emergency response and/or developing preparedness documents to include concept of operations, response plans, and guidance documents.
  • Experience analyzing and resolving complex public health program or system issues and developing associated plans and requirements.
  • Experience developing or reviewing guidance documents, training materials, exercises, concepts of operations, and response plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple time-sensitive activities, stakeholders, and deliverables with limited supervision.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, sound judgment, adaptability, and systems-oriented thinking.
  • Active Secret security clearance and be able to obtain DHS Suitability.

 

Target salary range: $94,000 - $112,500
