Summary 

The Project Executive role will be responsible for overseeing all items related to day-to-day construction operations within a section of the division, including project plan development, cost and schedule analysis, and owner and subcontractor communications and interface. They will be involved with all phases related to preconstruction, construction, and project close-out. This role will provide subject matter expertise, leadership and oversight for all assigned construction projects.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Leadership / Management  

  • The Project Executive is a working leader, responsible for successfully managing individual projects while simultaneously supervising and developing project management teams.
  • Oversees the execution of projects from preconstruction services to completion, ensuring adherence to safety, quality standards, timelines, and budgets.
  • Provides leadership to project management, estimating, and field staff and routinely visits all assigned project sites to assess progress, quality of work and compliance with all required policies and procedures 
  • Provide direct oversight to assigned project management team including but not limited to relationship management, mentorship, evaluation, assignments, and yearly reviews.
  • Creates accurate estimates and project budgets, monitors project progress, reviews financial performance on a regular basis, and takes corrective action in a timely manner to meet project goals.
  • Serves as escalation point for owners, vendors, schedule impacts, complex payment issues etc.
  • Manages risk in accordance with company guidelines, seeks for new ways to improve operating returns and works to resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Actively leads and supports a positive, initiative-taking, results oriented work culture that is regarded by peers and stakeholders as innovative and demonstrative of company’s values.
  • Assist with Real Estate Development associated within your assigned division including site evaluation, entitlements, permitting and construction.
  • Expected to fully understand, consistently follow, and train project team on standard operating procedures(SOPs)
  • Effectively lead and coordinate design/build process throughout all stages of project lifecycle.
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvement and efficiencies leveraging knowledge of best practices.




Prospecting / Business Development:

  • Participates in strategic business planning within the division; partner with business development team and directors to develop strategic plans for the company and project pursuits to win work within the assigned market.
  • Leverages broad knowledge of client relationships, staff availability and overall market strategy to lead project qualification, RFP response and win strategy.
  • Evaluates the competitive environment of your projects, including competitor strengths, vulnerabilities, and market fee levels, to inform successful market and business development strategy.
  • Participates in the sales process, client presentations, and key marketing activities.
  • Promotes Company through involvement in community and civic organizations that will expand network.
  • Attends trade and business development functions to increase visibility and generate leads.



Relationship Management:

  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and ensuring their satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Engages and builds relationships with key stakeholders, including vendors, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure smooth project execution and compliance.
  • Develops and maintains strategic relationships and networks with key industry leaders, including business, corporate, government, A & E firms, and associations.

 

Technology:

  • Utilize appropriate software including Procore, Bluebeam, Sage 300 CRE, Timberscan, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and BambooHR   

 

Qualifications

  • Four (4) year degree in Construction Management or related degree
  • Ten (10)+ years of applicable industry experience as a Project Manager with exposure to selling projects for a commercial general contractor
  • Ability to accurately interpret plans and shop drawings, land surveys, reports, and analyses
  • Results-orientated with proven ability to organize, plan and prioritize work to meet deadlines
  • Able to apply sound judgment and critical thinking skills to complex projects and business challenges
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills; communicates effectively with management, employees, customers, and vendors 
  • High level of motivation, integrity, and commitment to team and customers
  • Strong work ethic, decisive, ambitious, with an unwavering commitment to quality and professional work
  • Ability to travel


Working Environment / Physical Requirements

  • Must maintain regular and reliable attendance at a level acceptable to the company
  • Physical Requirements: Sitting, standing, walking un-even surfaces, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.  This position requires the ability to maneuver around construction sites where temperatures and noise level can fluctuate, and the ability to see, hear, and verbally communicate with co-workers and clients. Must have near visual acuity to review written documentation.
  • Travel to jobsites as needed
