Title: Project Engineer (Open to Remote Contractors based in China)

Set-up: Independent Contractor

About the Role:

The Project Engineer will play a key role in ensuring that products are developed on time, on specifications, on cost and on quality. This position will work closely with suppliers, internal teams, and other stakeholders to evaluate engineering specifications, coordinate development, understand cost structure of material and manufacturing process, and drive continuous improvement. The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge with analytical and problem-solving skills to with commitment to best quality standards.

Job Responsibilities:

• Review and confirm engineering specifications for product development are complete and feasible, also propose elaboration and optimization where possible.
• Communicate to make sure understanding of those engineering specifications are clear and aligned amongst internal and external engineers (at ODM suppliers)
• Coordinate to make sure products are developed on time, on specification, on cost and on quality.
• Understand cost structure of products from BOM and/or samples and drive for potential cost improvements.
• Understand manufacturing process and drive for potential cost improvements.
• Other relevant tasks that may be assigned.

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in design engineering, manufacturing engineering, project management, or a related role.
• Experience working with manufacturing suppliers or factories in China, preferably in consumer electronics, mobile technology accessories, plastics, or related consumer products.
• Knowledge of engineering design, project management, manufacturing processes
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other tools used for cost analysis, reporting, and data management.
• Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and proficiency in English to communicate effectively with local suppliers and international stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel to supplier factories and manufacturing sites as required.
