Mission Clean Energy is seeking a Project Development Analyst to support Mission’s pipeline of utility-scale Solar and Battery renewable energy projects.

About the Role:
The Project Development Analyst is responsible for supporting the development of Mission’s solar and battery storage projects throughout their lifecycle with an emphasis on greenfielding through NTP. You will gain a wide breadth of renewables experience, working closely with Mission’s cross-functional groups that include finance, engineering, GIS, real estate, permitting, transmission/interconnection, and revenue contract origination. In this role, you’ll support and lead the day-to-day development tasks vital to project success, including managing project development plans, project schedules and budgets, and working with stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. In addition, you’ll conduct market analysis and research, due diligence of new sites, coordinate contractors and vendors to obtain various work products, and support RFP responses as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
Work with management to identify and prioritize target greenfield sites and acquisition targets for renewable energy opportunities by conducting customer-focused, data-driven, multi-dimensional analysis incorporating input from cross-functional team members.
Progress projects through the various stages of development including initial land acquisition, the interconnection process, permitting and applications.
Guide real estate/land acquisition on target greenfield sites.
Deliver development projects on time and on budget.
Track project risk throughout the development cycle; provide risk assessments and mitigations to management.
Participate in the development of key account and utility relationships.
Support the development of proposal strategies, RFP processes or similar, and facilitate the negotiation of terms for vendors and consultants who participate in the development process.
Develop and maintain business relationships with key consultants and vendors.
Maintain and provide suggestions for project development tracking and reporting.
Other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in business, planning, engineering, environmental or finance related fields.
Solar and/or battery project development experience preferred. A Master’s Degree in an applicable field and/or work experience in a related field (ex: GIS, land agent, law, environmental consulting) are also a plus.
A foundational understanding of renewable energy markets and project lifecycle preferred.
Project skills including creating and managing project budgets and schedules.
Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously, with varying complexities and urgencies presented day to day.
Ability to effectively work remotely.
Excellent people, entrepreneurial, organizational and analytical skills.
Exceptional organization, attention to detail, and professional communication and presentation skills.
Proficiency in, Excel, Powerpoint, and Smartsheet. Knowledge of ArcGIS a plus.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional employee groups; we’re looking for candidates whose references will say they’re a great teammate.
Bias toward action in decision making.
A valid driving license.
Ability and willingness to travel within the United States as much as 25% of the time, or as required by project needs.
Mission offers highly competitive compensation. Our benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, and health insurance; 401(k) plan with company match; and generous time-off policies. Compensation: $70,000 - 90,000 annual salary + bonuses, depending on qualifications and relevant experience.
