The Kentucky Boxing and Wrestling Commission (KBWC) encourages the growth of unarmed combat
sports, protects participants and spectators and strives to improve the sports by thoughtful, reasonable and
fair regulation and monitoring. The KBWC licenses unarmed combat sports athletes, trainers, corners,
promoters, referees and judges, and oversees all professional boxing, professional wrestling and both
amateur and professional mixed martial arts (MMA) events held in the Commonwealth.
We are looking for a part-time program coordinator to join our team of highly skilled professionals. As a
program coordinator you will coordinate all functions of the Wrestling program on a statewide basis for
the Kentucky Boxing and Wrestling Authority.
This position is a remote position and requires evening and weekend hours as well as travel to events
across the state of Kentucky.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Oversees and attends wrestling events in the state.
- Assigns event officials and presides over weigh-ins and ensures compliance with statute and regulation per KBWC.
- Coordinates pre-show functions including review of matchups ensuring competitive and safe bouts.
- Collects and records fighter medical data, Federal Id number, issuing state, and expiration date.
- Maintains regular communication with promoters of upcoming shows, informing them on bout status and fighter licensing and medical status.
- Serves as backup inspector for MMA events in the absence of another inspector.
- Submits results and updates national databases such as Boxrec, CombatReg, Tapology.
- Ensures accurate records for results, suspensions, event reports and other event data as required.
- Attends monthly KBWC meetings prepared to report on boxing events held and upcoming.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
