AI Summary

Lead the development and commercialization of a transfection platform, moving it from lab success to a market-ready product. Coordinate between R&D, manufacturing, and business development to execute an initial Research Use Only (RUO) launch.

At Providence Therapeutics, we Ignite the Cure Within.  We are a clinical stage Canadian mRNA company focusing on getting the best quality vaccines to the places that need it most.  These include infectious diseases and cancer.  We are on the leading edge of vaccine development and are on the hunt for people with an adventurous mindset to join us.  We want to make a difference and help heal the World.

We have an immediate opening for a Product & Project Manager.  This position is available in Calgary, AB. We are engaging a contract Product Manager / Project Manager to lead the development and commercialization of a transfection platform. This role is responsible for translating a scientific capability into a structured, market-ready product, beginning with a Research Use Only (RUO) launch and expanding into commercial and partnership opportunities. This is a delivery-focused role with clear outcomes, operating at the intersection of research & development (R&D), manufacturing, and business development. Initial contract: 4–6 months, with opportunity to extend based on project success.

We’re looking for someone to step in and help us move this forward, quickly and deliberately. We’ve built something real — a Transfection agent platform that works. This is not a traditional “project manager” contract and it’s not a passive advisory role. It is hands-on ownership in the middle; between scientists, manufacturing, and commercialization, ensuring that progress turns into outcomes.

How we plan on keeping you busy:

  • Defining the product: what it is, who it serves, and how it evolves
  • Driving execution across R&D, manufacturing, distribution partners, and the IP team
  • Leading an initial RUO launch (positioning, SKU strategy, pricing)
  • Supporting partnership and licensing discussions
  • Managing timelines, risks, and key decisions in an environment that won’t be fully defined

What does success look like:

We move the Transfection agent platform from “this works in the lab” to:

  • A defined product
  • A successful RUO launch
  • Early revenue and credible partnership interest

What will help you get here:

  • Minimum 3-7 years in biotech or life sciences and have taken something from concept to market
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in a scientific disciple (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Biomedical, Life Sciences) or related field
  • Project Management certification preferred
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of scientific concepts, with ability to ask informed, critical questions and translate insights into effective execution and decision making
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments, bringing structure, clarity and defined processes to undefined or evolving situations
  • Highly proactive and self-directed, with a track record of driving initiatives forward, creating momentum and delivering results without the need for constant direction

What it’s like to work with us:

At Providence Therapeutics, you’ll be working with a clinical Canadian Biotech company that is innovating in the fast-growing mRNA space.   We are focused on helping and healing people around the world. We are looking for culture builders and visionaries to help us make our infectious disease and cancer programs a reality. You truly have an opportunity to have a positive impact on individuals’ lives.

What you can expect working with us:

  • Competitive salary
  • Flexible and Remote Work
