Stablecoins, programmable blockchains, and AI are changing how financial services get built. For a decade, fintech took legacy banking, wrapped it in better software, and won on experience. The rails underneath never moved.
Now they do.
Altitude is a new kind of financial services company. Banking becomes a module, programmable like the rest of the stack. On top of it we are building the global business account: hold USD and EUR, earn APY on idle treasury, send money anywhere via local digital payment systems, across 150+ countries, no US entity required.
Built on Squads Protocol, the treasury infrastructure securing $10B+ in assets. Backed by Haun Ventures, Multicoin Capital, Electric Capital, and Coinbase Ventures.
Product engineer is the job for people who want the whole arc: the problem, the design, the code, and the thing customers actually touch.
You will work directly with founders and designers, take features from a rough idea to shipped, and own them after they ship. There is no layer of project managers translating between you and the product. The distance between "this should exist" and "this is live" is meant to be short, and you are the person who keeps it short.
This is money infrastructure, so the bar is high. The interfaces should feel obvious. The code underneath should be careful. Both matter, and we do not trade one for the other.
Build customer-facing features across the stack, from the account experience down to the money movement underneath it
Work shoulder to shoulder with design on flows where clarity and trust are the product, not decoration
Ship payments, FX, yield, and treasury features on rails that settle 24/7
Integrate with onchain infrastructure and a wide network of PSPs
Own performance, correctness, and the edge cases that matter more when real money is moving
Help shape what gets built, not just how it gets built, and push back when something does not feel right
You have shipped customer-facing products end to end, and you can point to ones you are proud of
Strong fundamentals in TypeScript and React, and comfort working across the full stack
Product taste: you care about UX, speed, and polish, and you notice when something is off
High ownership. You do your best work with autonomy and a clear problem, not a ticket queue.
Care for craft that shows up in the details, especially the ones nobody asked about
You move fast without getting sloppy
Background in fintech, payments, or anything where correctness and money intersect
Familiarity with Solana, smart accounts, or stablecoins
Experience with the Tanstack ecosystem, or building and maintaining a design system
Frontend: Typescript, SPA, Tanstack (Start, DB, Form), ElectricSQL, Zod, PandaCSS
Backend: Rust, Axum, Temporal, Postgres, Redis
Infra: AWS
You do not need every item on that list. You should be the kind of engineer who is glad to work this close to product, performance, and real money at real scale.
Small team, high trust, fast execution. A few things we actually mean:
Craftsmanship excellence. Every contribution, whatever its size, meets a high bar.
Bias for action. We would rather ship, learn, and correct than wait for certainty.
Radical transparency. Respectful candor over comfortable silence.
Kindness matters. It compounds, internally and with every customer.
Competitive compensation with meaningful equity and real upside. Indicative band for this role is $180K to $240K depending on level and location, plus equity.
Unlimited, flexible PTO and a flexible schedule
Company laptop and an allowance for whatever else you need to do your best work
Two company-paid off-sites per year
