About AUGO

Take life to go.

That’s what AUGO is about. For the mom whose back door is always open with kids and dogs running through. For the off-roader strapping his ATV onto the truck. For families, adventurers, and everyone in between — AUGO is built to come with you.

We’re a family-owned US e-commerce brand selling durable, practical products across home and outdoor categories — including our magnetic screen doors and retractable ratchet straps. We’ve built a strong Amazon business with thousands of 5-star reviews, selling across Amazon US and Europe, Walmart, and TikTok Shop.

We grow by launching new products. To do that at the pace we want, we need someone who can build them.

The Role

We’re looking for a Product Development & Sourcing Specialist to own everything between a product idea and a product that’s ready to launch.

The ideas are not the problem — we have more of them than we can execute. The problem is the middle: turning a direction into a complete, manufacturer-ready specification, finding the right factories, getting real quotes back, driving samples to a decision, and getting the product ready to go live on Amazon.

Our target is ten new products live every quarter. You are the person who makes that possible.

You’ll take a product idea and rough direction from our Head of R&D and carry it through specs, sourcing, quotes, negotiation, samples, and the product-side setup of the listing. You’ll direct our existing sourcing agent and deal with factories yourself.

This is not an assistant role. You are not waiting for instructions — you are the person who makes sure nothing sits.

Full-time. Reports directly to our Head of R&D.

What You’ll Own

Product Specs & Details

Develop detailed, brand-aligned product specifications — materials, colours, comfort, construction, and the features that differentiate the product — while meeting target costs, competitive pricing, and product-appropriate shipping dimensions. The Amazon size tier gets confirmed before the design is frozen, because half an inch changes the fee.

A complete spec pack within 1–2 days of approval, written so a factory can quote from it unchanged.

Manufacturer Search

Go wide, then narrow. Work Alibaba, 1688 and other channels to find and approach a large pool of factories, verify capability and capacity, and bring it down to a shortlist worth quoting.

5–8 strong, verified suppliers for each approved product within 3–5 business days.

Pricing, Landed Cost & Negotiation

Take the shortlist to real numbers. Negotiate, calculate landed cost per unit, and tell us whether the margin works. Not a quote-forwarder — the person who knows whether the number is good and pushes until it is.

Best realistic price, MOQ, lead time, payment terms and packaging all confirmed before sample approval. Quotes collected within 2–3 days.

Supplier Follow-Up

Suppliers go quiet. The job is to not let that stop anything.

No supplier question sits unanswered. Follow-ups happen daily until resolved.

Samples Through to a Decision

Order samples from the shortlist, track them, compare them against the spec, and run the revision rounds through to a final answer.

Samples ordered within 1–2 days of a decision to sample. Every change documented, every sample driven to a written approval or rejection.

Product Setup & Launch Readiness

Create and manage UPC, SKU, FNSKU and QR codes. Own packaging, inserts, warnings and labelling to AUGO’s established standards. Confirm packaging and FBA dimensions directly with the factory. Direct product images, A+ content and video — the person who knows the product’s specs and materials briefs the creative.

Organised Data & Reporting

Every product has a clear supplier comparison showing company quality, quote, specs, risks, open questions and a recommendation. An end-of-day report every working day, a weekly scorecard and KPIs, and daily contact with the Head of R&D.

Nobody should ever have to ask you where a product stands.

What Success Looks Like

•             Spec packs complete in 1–2 days and good enough to quote from unchanged

•             5–8 verified suppliers per product within 3–5 business days

•             Landed cost per unit calculated for every finalist and presented side by side

•             Every sample reaching a written decision against the spec — nothing sitting in a box

•             Products moving through the pipeline without being chased

•             The Head of R&D’s time spent on sourcing and specs measurably down

30 / 60 / 90 Day Plan

First 30 Days — Learn the Products and the System

•             Learn AUGO’s catalogue, the two hero products, and the pipeline end to end

•             Meet the sourcing agent and our active factories

•             Learn our spec format and rebuild one existing product’s spec pack from scratch

•             Understand FBA size tiers as they apply to our actual SKUs

•             Shadow a live product through at least two stages

•             The end-of-day report starts on day one

Days 31–60 — Take the Work

•             Own the specs outright. Take the product idea and direction from our Head of R&D and turn it into a complete, manufacturer-ready specification: materials and their grades, real-world dimensions and tolerances, construction and how each feature is actually built, colourways and finishes, packaging, inserts and labelling.

•             Do the work behind the spec. A direction is not a specification. You research what you don’t know, work out the parts nobody has worked out yet, and come back with something that can actually be built — and defend how you got there.

•             Catch the dimensional problems before the design is frozen, including the half inch that moves us into a worse FBA size tier.

•             Run a full search-to-shortlist cycle alone across Alibaba, 1688 and other channels — approaching factories, verifying capability and capacity, narrowing to a shortlist worth quoting.

•             Send RFQs, chase quotes to completion, and build the supplier comparison with landed cost per unit — without help

•             Reporting is running and nobody has to ask for it

Days 61–90 — Own It

•             Carry products from approval to approved sample with no chasing

•             Five to six products launched or launch-ready against forecast

•             Clear supplier and cost documentation in place

•             A credible pipeline toward the ten-product quarterly goal

Required Experience

•             Hands-on product sourcing experience — you’ve found factories yourself across Alibaba, 1688 or other channels, engaged suppliers directly, requested and compared meaningful quotes, and argued about MOQ and unit price. This is not a role for someone who has only “worked with suppliers.”

•             Experience taking a physical product from idea through to production

•             Managed a supplier relationship through at least one full production run

•             E-commerce experience — Amazon private label strongly preferred

•             Amazon Seller Central experience preferred, not required

Requirements

Required Skills

•             Sourcing. Sources efficiently across Alibaba, 1688 and other channels. Identifies and engages reliable suppliers. Requests and compares meaningful quotes.

•             Amazon listing literacy. You read a listing the way a seller does, not the way a shopper does — pulling dimensions, materials, construction and packaging detail off competitor listings and feeding it back into a spec.

•             Numeracy, genuinely. Margins, landed cost per unit, freight allocated per unit, CBM, percentages, FBA size tiers and dimensional weight. This job is arithmetic every day.

•             Clear written specifications — appropriately phased, without unnecessary complexity, and without simply transferring supplier listings into a spreadsheet.

•             Strong written English. You’ll report daily in writing and negotiate with factories in writing.

•             Reliable computer and internet connection, and daily overlap with our Head of R&D.

Who You Are

•             You figure things out. The idea and the direction come from our Head of R&D. Turning that into a real product — every part nobody has worked out yet — is on you. You go and find out rather than assume, you’re resourceful about how you get there, and what you come back with holds up.

•             Follow-through is your identity. You chase without being told to.

•             You push back on a first price. A quote is an opening position, not an answer.

•             Detail-oriented where it costs money — you catch a spec error before it becomes 2,000 defective units.

•             You balance quality, differentiation, cost and shipping practicality rather than optimising one and breaking the others.

•             Comfortable owning a pipeline, not just completing tasks handed to you.

•             Direct communicator. You flag a delay before it becomes one.

What We’ll Teach You

Our brand standards, product point of view, customer preferences, target price architecture, and the specific qualities that make a product right for our brand. Also the Amazon fee schedules and calculators, our spec templates, our existing suppliers and sourcing agent, and our internal tools and reporting rhythm.

We’re hiring for sourcing instinct and follow-through. The rest we can hand over.
