Playbypoint is the software that runs racquet sports clubs, tennis, pickleball, and padel. We're used by 1,000+ clubs and 3M+ players across 40+ countries. We were built for racquet sports, not adapted for them, and we believe the club should own its brand, its data, and its players. The best software here disappears, so the club can focus on its community.
As a Product Designer, you own features end to end, from the first messy exploration to shipped, polished UI. You'll design for both sides of Playbypoint. On one side, the operator tools that run the club. On the other, the consumer and marketplace products players use to find matches and book courts. You'll work across web and mobile, alongside our product squads. The bar is high craft that holds up across the whole product, not just on one screen.
End-to-end design for small and medium features, from problem framing through high-fidelity, production-ready UI.
Flows that hold up under real conditions: edge cases, empty states, error states, and the messy paths, not just the happy one.
The design system, day to day. You apply it consistently, maintain it as the product changes, and contribute new components and patterns when you find a gap.
Design decisions you can explain and defend to product and engineering, grounded in user needs and data, not just taste.
Work that survives handoff. You partner with engineering through build and QA so what ships matches what you designed.
The design function already exists and works. We have a design system, a real product, and clubs depending on it every day. Your job is to help it grow and improve. You'll have established patterns to build on, and room to push them forward. You won't be starting from a blank page. This is steady, high-quality production with room to raise the craft as we grow.
You must have:
A portfolio that shows end-to-end product design. Not just finished screens, but the thinking, the flows, and the edge cases behind them.
Strong craft fundamentals: layout, hierarchy, interaction patterns, and the judgment to apply common patterns well.
Hands-on experience building and maintaining design systems in Figma: components, variants, and shared patterns other people can reuse.
The ability to own scoped projects independently, manage your own bandwidth, and flag risks early.
Clear communication. You can present work with a narrative and defend your decisions to product and engineering. Ideally, in both English and Spanish.
Nice to have:
Experience designing for both SaaS or operational tools used by a range of different users and non-technical people for both web and mobile experiences.
A track record of designing for accessibility and involving a range of devices and states.
Familiarity and track record of experimentation with AI tools to help you improve your design workflows
Remote-first. We're open to candidates internationally and work async by default.
We design with AI in the loop. Tools like Claude and Figma are part of the daily workflow from research to design and cross functional delivery.
You'll work closely with product managers, engineers, operational teams, sales representatives and marketing from problem framing through ship. When needed, we trust you to bring a proposal and defend it to senior stakeholders.
High craft, low ceremony. We care more about what ships, and how it holds up, than about process for its own sake.
