Job Summary: | This is a PRN position which will lead and design and report qualitative research and lead, implement and maintenance of quantitative data collection. This position will also lead or co-author peer-reviewed manuscripts and other professional publications and reports as directed by principal and co-investigators Key Responsibilities: Qualitative Research Methods · Lead the design, implementation, and reporting of qualitative research or evaluation tasks as required · Effectively collect, manage, and analyze qualitative data independently or with a team · Provide team, instruction, or coaching for use of qualitative methods, including individual and group interviewing techniques · Provide expert instruction and guidance on the use of ATLAS.ti software for management and analysis of qualitative data · Effectively develop appropriate qualitative data collection tools, including but not limited to semi-structured and unstructured interview guides · Arrange for transcription and translation services as needed · Provide support for IRB reviews of qualitative methods as needed Quantitative Research Methods · Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of quantitative data collection · Effectively design, implement, and maintain quantitative collection systems or tools, including but not limited to web-based data collection and paper-based data collection · Effectively ensure the quality of data collection and management for quantitative data sources · Design, implement, and maintain web-based data collection systems using REDCap and/or Qualtrics as required · Develop and implement quantitative data reporting systems such as data reports and data dashboards using such applications as R, Excel, REDCap, or Qualtrics. · Support data analysts with data production and data preparation tasks, as needed Mixed Method and Multiple Method Research · Design and implement mixed-methods analysis plans to effectively blend qualitative and quantitative data using established mixed-method approaches · Design and implement multiple method analysis plans when formal mixed-methods approaches are not feasible General Data Duties · Lead or co-author peer-reviewed manuscripts and other professional publications and reports as directed by principal and co-investigators · Coordinate data access as required for team functioning · Ensure data security |
Work Location: | Remote – this role is eligible to work remotely, but the employee must be in the United States. |
Qualifications: | Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. · Terminal degree (PhD, in social and behavioral sciences health sciences, public health, sociology or related discipline, · At least five years of demonstrated experience and success using qualitative and mixed methods research designs is required. · Demonstrated experience leading the qualitative research components of clinical and health services research projects Preferred Qualifications: · Strong knowledge of qualitative methodologies and data collection methods relevant in medical research · Expertise in multiple qualitative interpretive frameworks · Expertise in multiple qualitative data collection methodologies, including but not limited to in-depth interviews, focus group, observations, and visual data collection methods · Expertise in multiple qualitative analytic methods and use of qualitative software programs Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: · Strong organizational, management, and interpersonal skills · Exceptional teamwork and collaboration abilities · Problem-solving and initiative execution skills · Highly organized, detail-oriented, and reliable · Thorough understanding of patient privacy and Protected Health Information (PHI) · Professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality in all interactions · Conflict resolution skills. · Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. · Ability to simultaneously perform multiple tasks and complete administrative duties correctly and on time.
