Summary: 

The PMO Supervisor will support the delivery engine of the PMO. This role is responsible for ensuring consistent, high-quality execution across all projects by overseeing project management standards, auditing delivery practices, and coaching project teams. Under the direction of the Manager, PMO, the PMO Supervisor maintains operational discipline across Project Managers, Scrum Masters, and Project Coordinators. This role serves as the day-to-day quality control function of the PMO, ensuring all work is executed in alignment with PMO standards, methodologies, and expectations. 

 

What This Role Does: 

  • Reviews and validates project plans to ensure alignment with PMO standards, templates, and delivery methodology. 
  • Ensures all projects maintain accurate schedules, milestones, dependencies, and resource alignment. 
  • Provides feedback to project managers on gaps, inconsistencies, risks and stakeholders alignment based on project plans built by PMs and enforce corrective actions. 
  • Monitors execution across project managers to ensure consistency and adoption of stage gates process.  
  • Establishes and enforces PMO operating rhythms (weekly status, bi-weekly project health checks). 
  • Defines regular project audits and health checks across active projects. 
  • Ensures adherence to PMO standards, SDLC, Agile practices, and governance frameworks, including artifacts completion for each stage gate and maintains traceability across decisions, approvals and deliverables. 
  • Tracks project plans audit findings, creates an action plan and shares remediation actions with PMO leadership. 
  • Escalates systemic execution issues and risks to PMO leadership on project managers having challenges with driving timelines, decision points and following escalation paths. 
  • Provides hands-on coaching to Project Managers, Scrum Masters, and Project Coordinators. 
  • Partners with Supervisor of business and technical analyst to recommend PMO process improvements towards achieving optimal resource balance, scalability and operational efficiency. 
  • Reinforces PMO best practices in planning, risk management, and communication, while driving consistency and standardization across delivery teams. 
  • Acts as a point of escalation for delivery challenges and supports resolution of risks, issues, and blockers. 
  • Ensures timely and accurate project status reporting and provides visibility into project health and execution trends. 
  • Identifies trends across projects and recommends process and execution improvements to enhance delivery effectiveness. 
  • Takes an active approach to talent management by onboarding, mentoring, and inspiring a diverse, highly engaged, and skilled team. Continuously strengthens team capability through talent development, succession planning, and recruitment. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

 

What You Will Bring: 

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required, a bachelor’s degree is preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience will be considered. 
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of proven experience as a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager is required; 10 years is preferred. 
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience leading PMO operations, with a minimum of three (3) years in people management. This includes accountability for performance, development, and delivery of results aligned with organizational objectives. 
  • Experience adopting PMO or governance-driven environment. 
  • Strong knowledge of project planning, scheduling, and dependency management. 
  • Strong understanding of risk, issue, and change management. 
  • Support managing resource capacity plans. 
  • Experience assessing and improving project plans, managing multiple concurrent projects, and conducting project audits or health checks. 
  • Ability to coach and develop delivery teams, hold peers accountable, and drive corrective action. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to identify trends across multiple projects. 
  • Proficiency with tools such as JIRA, Smartsheet, MS Project, Confluence. 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, including mentoring others, leading initiatives or workstreams, contributing to best practices, and driving cross-functional outcomes.  
  • Respectful and outstanding leadership skills that motivate colleagues to focus their energy on achieving business goals. 
  • Ability to plan and manage at both strategic and tactical operational levels. Works to achieve goals while overcoming obstacles and/or planning for contingencies.   
  • Strong communication and presentation skills across all levels of the organization including executive communication. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and modern collaboration platforms (e.g., MS Teams, Slack).  
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills, capable of handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.  
  • Ability to work collaboratively to foster a high-quality, results-driven, team-oriented environment.  
  • Demonstrated ability to use discretion, make sound decisions, and maintain confidentiality.  
  • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours as needed and travel up to 10%, which may include occasional overnight travel. 
  • Preferred: 
    • PMP certification 
    • Scrum certification

Work Environment: 

100% Remote with Travel: Work environment is primarily indoors (home office, customer or vendor sites, or other business meeting venues); travel may involve exposure to varying weather and temperature conditions, as well as driving and traffic hazards. Travel is required, approximately 10%, and may include overnight and out-of-state trips. (sales roles and roles with travel)  

 

Compensation:  

$115,000 to $125,000 plus 5% determined by competitive market analysis and internal equity considerations. Final compensation will be based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and business needs.
