AI Summary

Lead the end-to-end technical implementation of complex PLM projects, focusing on architecting solutions and driving digital thread initiatives. Responsibilities include conducting requirements workshops, executing data migrations, and mentoring junior engineers.

About the role

As a PLM Implementation Engineer III, you'll lead the technical delivery of our most complex PTC Windchill engagements, fully independently. You'll architect solutions, run requirements workshops, drive digital thread initiatives, and serve as the go-to technical authority for customers and colleagues alike. This isn't a role where you execute someone else's plan; you build the plan and own it from kickoff through knowledge transfer.

What you'll do

  • Lead the technical implementation of complex PLM projects end to end.

  • Architect solutions based on customer business requirements, including AS-IS process assessment and TO-BE design.

  • Conduct requirements gathering workshops and prepare detailed functional and technical design documents.

  • Develop and validate proof-of-concept systems.

  • Create project plans, schedules, and work breakdown structures for assigned engagements.

  • Execute complex data migrations and system integrations.

  • Configure advanced features and customizations within PTC Windchill.

  • Engage in FlexPLM, ThingWorx Navigate, and CAD implementation, integration, and upgrades.

  • Perform Windchill Critical Patch updates, rehost activities, and SSO deployments.

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency using best-in-class PLM practices.

  • Create and deliver technical presentations for client validation.

  • Train client super users on Windchill and ThingWorx Navigate.

  • Provide implementation best practices and knowledge transfer to customers.

  • Serve as a technical mentor and sounding board for Level I and II engineers.

What you'll bring

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.

  • 4–7 years of experience in MCAD and PLM environments, including architecting, solutioning, and executing services projects.

  • Demonstrated expertise in the PTC Windchill platform.

  • Experience with complex system integrations & implementations.

  • Practical experience with CAD/PLM systems and PTC products.

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving capability.

  • Ability to communicate and present effectively at all levels, including customer executives.

Preferred:

  • Master's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.

  • Experience with ThingWorx.

Who thrives here

  • You lead projects without needing a map — you draw the map.

  • Customers trust you not just to deliver, but to tell them what they actually need.

  • You can hold your own in a boardroom and a technical design session on the same day.

  • You're generous with your expertise and genuinely invested in helping less experienced engineers grow.

  • You bring a point of view on PLM best practices and aren't afraid to push back when a customer's approach could be better.

Work setup

  • Remote-first with a dedicated, professional home workspace required.

  • Some travel required, including occasional international trips for customer visits, training, and company meetings.
