Platform Software Engineer

Your Team's Impact 

Platform Engineers in the FactSet.io group architect, build, and maintain a Platform-as-a-Service infrastructure used by all developers at FactSet. You’ll operate in both the development and systems world, writing software that helps scale the systems and applications that we support for our internal consumers. The team provides a wide breath of open-source projects and technologies as-a-service, including Docker, PostgreSQL, Redis, and Kafka.  We use tools like Packer, Terraform, Chef, and Prometheus to manage our hybrid-cloud infrastructure in AWS.  You’ll tackle challenging problems and work with nearly all engineering groups at FactSet.   

Tech stack: Golang, react.JS, docker, PostgreSQL ,Redis, Kafka, terraform, AWS, Linux. REST Apis

Squad team: 6 Software Engineers (Junior to principal software engineer) + the hiring manager

What You'll Do 

• Troubleshoot and optimize operating system level issues (Linux)
• Design and build new self-service APIs, web portals, and CLIs 

• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation

What We're Looking For 

Required Skills 

• Bachelors in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent 
• Track record of building infrastructure automation  
• Working knowledge of basic Linux troubleshooting 
• 3+ years of experiences in Go or Ruby, Python, Bash 

Desired Skills 

• Familiarity with containerized workflows, FactSet.io, or Heroku 
• Experience writing highly-available, distributed APIs and services in a production environment
