Platform Engineer

Position Title: Platform Engineer / Nutanix - Managed Services

Position Location: Remote or Onsite (as per business needs)

Job Summary:

The Platform Engineer will support, implement, and maintain enterprise virtualization environments with a focus on Nutanix Enterprise Cloud technologies. This role emphasizes hands-on administration, troubleshooting, operational support, and continuous improvement of virtualization platforms that deliver reliable and secure services for enterprise and service provider customers. Candidates with Nutanix experience are preferred.

Essential Functions:

• Deploy, configure, and maintain Nutanix clusters and other virtualization platforms such as VMware, KVM, and Hyper-V.
• Administer, support, and troubleshoot core infrastructure services such as Active Directory, DNS, Privileged Account Management, CMDB, etc.
• Monitor virtualization performance across multi-tenant and enterprise deployments and assist with tuning activities.
• Support automation of provisioning and lifecycle management using Nutanix Calm, Ansible, or similar tools.
• Apply best practices for data protection, encryption, and access control in virtualized infrastructures.
• Assist with audits, vulnerability assessments, and remediation activities to support compliance with SOC, ISO, GDPR, and CMMC frameworks.
• Collaborate with architects, project managers, and client teams during implementation activities, design discussions, and technical workshops.
• Provide operational support for virtualization issues and escalate complex problems to senior engineers or architects as needed.
  
  

Required Skills/Abilities/Competencies:

• 2+ years of experience supporting enterprise virtualization solutions, with preference for Nutanix AHV, Prism, and Nutanix Files.
• Working understanding of virtualization principles, workload isolation, and multi-tenancy.
• Hands-on exposure to VMware, Hyper-V, and containerization technologies such as Kubernetes.
• 2+ years experience supporting Linux systems

Education and Experience:

• Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP-MCI) and Nutanix Certified Services-Core (NCS-Core) preferred.
• VMware or Microsoft virtualization certifications a plus.
• Familiarity with hybrid or multi-cloud environments using AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong communication and documentation skills for internal teams and client-facing engagements.
• Ability to participate in design discussions and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
• Strong attention to detail, sense of ownership, and ability to own and meet deadlines.

Preferred Experience:

• Supporting Nutanix-based managed services for service providers.
• Familiarity with automation tools (Calm, Ansible) and scripting (Python, PowerShell).
• Exposure to compliance frameworks relevant to hosting and virtualization environments.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
