Position Purpose:
The PIM Product Analyst position plays a critical role in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of product information for business customers. This position is responsible for classifying products accurately, enriching SKUs with legitimate vendor data, and maintaining a consistent data model within the Product Information Management System. Through meticulous attention to detail and effective data management, the PIM Product Analyst ensures that eCommerce portals reflect accurate and standardized product information, aligning with company style guides and supporting seamless online sales initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the approval process for new product onboarding by rigorously evaluating and endorsing newly created products for release across all eCommerce channels, ensuring completeness and accuracy of data throughout the product lifecycle
Drive product data enrichment initiatives by systematically enhancing existing data models, soliciting additional product information from vendors, and implementing improvements to meet evolving customer and business needs
Proactively identify and address product data discrepancies, conducting thorough data cleansing activities to maintain high data integrity and support seamless eCommerce operations and customer interactions
Conduct comprehensive data integrity audits as necessary, swiftly act on findings to resolve any processing issues, and maintain pristine data quality across the eCommerce product catalog.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to gather necessary product information, utilizing strong interpersonal and communication skills to enhance the richness and usability of product data
Maintain the accuracy and completeness of all product content within the Product Information Management (PIM) system, including key data fields, product descriptions, and images, to support robust online sales activities
Continuously monitor product data for completeness and relevance, swiftly implementing new attributes and data models as needed to align with strategic eCommerce goals and changing market demands
Maintain and update the Style Guide, Preferred Term List, and Decision Log, ensuring consistent data presentation across all platforms and aligning with corporate standards for product information accuracy
Utilize advanced functions in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets to efficiently manage, analyze, and present product data, leveraging tools such as pivot tables and VLOOKUPs to streamline data-driven decision making
Direct Manager Direct Reports:
The PIM Product Analyst within the company's Product Data Operations team will report directly to the Enterprise PIM Manager. This position does not currently encompass any direct reports. The incumbent will be integral in maintaining product data integrity, ensuring data quality, and aligning data management processes with corporate standards, thereby contributing to the strategic objectives of the organization.
Travel Requirements:
This role is primarily remote and does not involve routine travel. Periodic travel to corporate headquarters or other sites may be required to support collaboration, training, or critical project needs.
Physical Requirements:
This role requires standard physical capabilities associated with an office-based work environment. As a PIM Product Analyst, you will primarily engage in tasks that are sedentary, involving extensive use of computers and other standard office equipment. This includes but is not limited to sitting for prolonged periods, utilizing a keyboard to enter data, analyzing product information on digital platforms, and consistently reviewing detailed documentation. Regular communication will be performed via video conferencing and phone calls; therefore, effective digital communication skills are essential.
The position is remote, allowing for flexibility in choosing a conducive work environment and adjusting setups for personal comfort as needed. Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in product information management, data analysis, or related field
Prior experience with eCommerce platforms and product data management
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, including the use of filters, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and other advanced functions
Proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint for effective documentation and presentation creation
Familiarity with Product Information Management (PIM) systems and processes
Experience in performing data integrity audits and data cleansing activities
Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups both inside and outside the organization
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively, ensuring timely completion with attention to detail
A proactive approach to problem-solving with a keen sense of urgency.
Ability to adapt to new technologies and processes
Familiarity with data normalization techniques and experience in maintaining style guides or terminology libraries is considered to be an asset
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience with advanced features and functionalities of leading Product Information Management (PIM) systems, such as Salsify, Inriver, Informatica, Stibo Systems, or similar platforms
Strong proficiency in data analysis tools and methodologies, with the ability to extract and interpret complex datasets to drive decisions and outline trends in product data requirements
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with product, marketing, and engineering teams, along with external vendors
Familiarity with emerging technologies and trends impacting eCommerce and data management, including AI and machine learning applications in data analysis
Demonstrated experience in managing projects from inception to completion, utilizing project management methodologies to ensure timely delivery of objectives
Experience in implementing quality assurance processes for product data to ensure compliance with industry standards and internal quality benchmarks
A proactive approach to identifying opportunities for process optimization and implementing innovative solutions to enhance product data management
In-depth understanding of eCommerce business models and the critical role of product data in enhancing consumer engagement and conversion rates
Demonstrated ability to identify issues, develop solutions, and implement changes effectively to improve data accuracy and system efficiency
Strong commitment to delivering superior customer service by ensuring high-quality product data that meets user needs and enhances the overall customer experience
Experience in the pool, landscape or distribution industries, offering valuable insights into product lifecycle management tailored to sector-specific demands
Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Data Management or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Preferred Education:
