About the Role
Are you a detail-oriented finance professional who enjoys keeping financial processes organised, accurate, and on track?
We’re looking for a Finance Assistant to join our Finance team and provide essential administrative and operational support across day-to-day financial activities. In this role, you’ll work closely with the Finance team and key stakeholders to maintain accurate financial records, manage routine transactions, coordinate documentation, and support timely revenue collection.
You’ll play an important role in ensuring finance-related tasks are completed accurately, efficiently, and within required timeframes, while also helping identify opportunities to improve existing processes.
If you have practical MYOB experience, strong Microsoft Office skills, excellent attention to detail, and an understanding of Australian finance processes, we’d love to hear from you. Knowledge of NDIS processes and Australian taxation/ATO requirements will be highly regarded.
Work Arrangement: Fully Remote
Schedule: 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM AEST, Monday to Friday
Key Responsibilities
Finance Administration
- Perform accurate and timely data entry into MYOB and other financial or operational systems.
- Establish and maintain recurring transactions within the MYOB accounting system.
- Maintain accurate financial records, supporting documentation, and contractual records.
- Purchase, reconcile, and maintain housekeeping vouchers in accordance with organisational policies and procedures.
- Assist with routine finance administration and accounting activities as required.
Accounts & Revenue Support
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to follow up on outstanding invoices, claims, approvals, and payments.
- Support the Finance team in monitoring and following up outstanding receivables to facilitate timely revenue collection.
- Ensure financial documentation is complete, accurate, and appropriately maintained.
- Assist with reconciliations and other routine financial processes.
Stakeholder & Inbox Management
- Monitor, triage, and action shared Finance email inboxes.
- Ensure enquiries are appropriately allocated, tracked, and responded to within required timeframes.
- Follow up with stakeholders to obtain signed agreements and other required documentation.
- Maintain complete and up-to-date contractual and financial records.
Process Improvement & Team Support
- Identify opportunities to improve finance administration processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide general administrative support to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Finance team.
- Assist with other finance-related tasks and projects as required.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in Finance, Accounting, Finance Administration, Accounts Receivable, or a related role.
- Practical experience using MYOB for day-to-day financial and accounting processes — required.
- Working knowledge of Australian accounting and finance processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy when handling financial data and documentation.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Experience managing shared inboxes and responding to or triaging finance-related enquiries.
- Ability to follow up professionally with stakeholders regarding invoices, payments, approvals, claims, and documentation.
- Ability to maintain accurate financial records and confidential information.
- Strong administrative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the Finance team.
- NDIS knowledge or experience is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of Australian taxation principles and ATO requirements is highly desirable.
- Experience supporting an Australian organisation or Finance team is strongly preferred.
