About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Personal Injury Case Manager specializing in high-value commercial cases to join our client's elite legal team. In this role, you will manage a select portfolio of complex, high-exposure personal injury cases involving commercial vehicles, trucking companies, construction accidents, premises liability, and other corporate defendants β€” cases where damages routinely reach six and seven figures.

This is not a standard case manager role. You will be expected to think critically, work closely with attorneys on case strategy, manage expert witnesses, coordinate with investigators, and drive cases toward maximum recovery. You must be a seasoned legal professional with a proven track record handling complex, high-stakes personal injury litigation in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

Case Strategy & High-Value File Management

  • Manage a focused portfolio of complex, high-value personal injury cases involving commercial entities, trucking companies, construction contractors, property owners, and corporate defendants
  • Work directly with lead attorneys to develop and execute case strategy from intake through resolution or trial
  • Identify liability theories, coverage layers, and damages opportunities early in the case lifecycle
  • Conduct in-depth case evaluations and maintain detailed strategic case plans with clear milestones
  • Monitor all critical deadlines including statutes of limitations, discovery cutoffs, expert disclosure dates, and trial schedules
  • Proactively identify case risks, coverage gaps, or evidentiary weaknesses and escalate to the attorney immediately
  • Prepare comprehensive case status reports and briefings for attorneys, clients, and senior management

Investigation & Evidence Coordination

  • Coordinate with accident reconstructionists, private investigators, and field investigators to gather and preserve critical evidence
  • Oversee the collection and preservation of black box data (EDR), surveillance footage, maintenance records, driver logs, and corporate policies
  • Manage spoliation holds and ensure timely notification to defendants and their insurers
  • Coordinate scene investigations, vehicle inspections, and expert site visits
  • Compile and organize comprehensive evidence files including photos, videos, witness statements, and third-party reports
  • Work with attorneys to identify and retain the most effective expert witnesses for each case

Medical Management & Damages Development

  • Oversee and actively manage the medical treatment of seriously injured clients, ensuring they receive appropriate and well-documented care
  • Coordinate with treating physicians, specialists, and life care planners to document the full extent of injuries and future medical needs
  • Build detailed medical chronologies and catastrophic injury summaries for attorney review
  • Work with economists, vocational experts, and life care planners to develop comprehensive damages models including lost earning capacity, future medical costs, and pain and suffering
  • Track all medical expenses, outstanding bills, and lien balances across multiple providers and lien holders
  • Negotiate medical liens and bills under attorney supervision to maximize net recovery for the client

Insurance & Coverage Analysis

  • Identify and analyze all applicable insurance coverage layers: commercial auto, general liability, umbrella/excess, cargo, and workers' compensation
  • Research corporate defendant structures to identify all potentially liable parties and available insurance assets
  • Communicate strategically with insurance adjusters, coverage counsel, and defense attorneys as directed
  • Track and manage multiple simultaneous insurance claims across commercial and personal policies
  • Assist in evaluating settlement offers against full case value and advise attorneys accordingly
  • Monitor excess and umbrella exposure and assist in bad faith evaluation where applicable

Client Relations

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for high-value clients, providing regular, clear, and strategic case updates
  • Manage client expectations with honesty and professionalism throughout what are often lengthy and complex cases
  • Conduct regular check-in calls or meetings with clients and their families as cases develop
  • Handle sensitive and high-stakes client communications with discretion, empathy, and confidence
  • Prepare clients for depositions, IMEs, and other litigation milestones under attorney supervision
