About the Job
The People Operations Generalist serves as a trusted HR partner to employees and leaders by providing guidance on HR policies, employee relations matters, performance management, accommodations, and employment practices. This role is responsible for delivering exceptional HR support while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. The Generalist partners cross-functionally to improve HR processes, support organizational initiatives, and foster a positive employee experience.
Essential Responsibilities
Serve as a primary point of contact for employee and manager inquiries through shared HR inboxes, office hours, and other communication channels.
Provide guidance and support on company policies, performance management, employee relations concerns, and corrective action.
Support and suggest appropriate workplace accommodations and support return-to-work processes, fit for duty employee returns, while partnering with internal stakeholders and third-party administrators.
Support HR initiative, compliance and recordkeeping while delivering a positive employee experience through the employee lifecycle.
Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and recommend solutions that enhance the employee experience and operational efficiency.
Participate in special projects and organizational initiatives as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Two or more years of professional Human Resources experience.
At least one year of experience managing complex employee relations matters, including coaching managers and resolving workplace concerns.
Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and applicable leave laws.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to handle confidential information professionally.
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
Experience supporting a multi-state workforce.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working within Workday (HRIS) and a workforce ticketing/email system (FreshService).
Experience supporting a fully remote workforce.

Physical Demands: This position primarily involves sedentary work and requires prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.
