People & Communications Specialist 
The People & Communications Specialist is a dynamic, dual-function role at the intersection of human resources and marketing. This position supports the day-to-day operations of our HR and communications functions — keeping Solvd people programs running smoothly, compliance obligations met while keeping the organization’s brand voice consistent and compelling across every channel.
This role is ideal for someone who wants to expand their HR knowledge and skill set. 

 
What you’ll do: 

Marketing & Communications 

  • Maintain and update company website content, ensuring accuracy, freshness, and brand consistency. 
  • Create and schedule social media content across relevant platforms, managing the editorial calendar and community engagement. 
  • Support product marketing efforts by developing and editing collateral, one-pagers, case studies, and other sales enablement materials. 
  • Lead or assist in the planning and execution of company-sponsored conferences, events, and trade show presence. 
  • Produce a range of content including blog posts, newsletters, internal communications, email campaigns, and announcements. 
  • Create graphics and visual assets for digital and print use, maintaining adherence to brand standards. 
  • Collaborate with leadership and subject matter experts to develop compelling content that reflects the company's voice and values. 

Talent Acquisition 

  • Support the full-cycle recruiting process by managing job postings, screening inbound applications, and coordinating candidate communications. 
  • Maintain and organize applicant tracking system records, ensuring documentation is complete and consistent. 
  • Assist hiring managers with scheduling, logistics, and follow-up throughout the interview process. 
  • Help draft recruitment communications. 

Benefits Administration 

  • Assist with monthly benefits billing reconciliation, including reviewing carrier invoices and flagging discrepancies. 
  • Support open enrollment and qualifying life event processes, including employee education and system updates. 
  • Serve as a first-line resource for employee benefits questions, escalating complex issues to the appropriate team member or vendor. 
  • Maintain benefits documentation, plan summaries, and enrollment materials in an organized and accessible format. 

 Compliance 

  • Coordinate responses to state agency surveys, regulatory inquiries, and information requests on behalf of the HR team. 
  • Manage employment verification requests, ensuring timely and accurate responses in line with company policy. 
  • Administer the background check process for new hires, tracking status and communicating with candidates and hiring managers as needed. 
  • Support HR audits by gathering documentation, organizing records, and preparing materials for review. 
  • Maintain awareness of applicable federal and state employment law requirements.

Training & Development 

  • Assist with the coordination and logistics of employee training programs, including scheduling, communications, and materials preparation. 
  • Track training completion and maintain learning records in the HRIS or LMS. 
  • Support the development of training content and resources, including presentations, guides, and participant materials. 
  • Help evaluate program effectiveness by collecting feedback and summarizing results. 

Employee Engagement 

  • Coordinate engagement survey administration, including communications and results reporting. 
  • Support employee recognition programs by maintaining nomination processes, tracking awards, and helping bring recognition moments to life. 
  • Assist in planning and executing employee events and programs that reinforce company culture. 
  • Identify opportunities to improve the employee experience and bring ideas forward to the HR team. 

 

What we're looking for: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, business, human resources, or a related field. 
  • 2-4 years of experience in HR, communications, marketing, or a closely related field (combination of experience across functions is a plus). 
  • Experience with graphic design tools such as Canva, Adobe Express, or similar. 
  • Experience with HRIS platforms preferred. 
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment law basics 
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines across different functional areas. 
  • Excellent written communication skills, writing clearly and concisely. 
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
