PC Installation Technician

Overview

We are seeking experienced Dental Office PC Installation Technicians to perform PC replacements and workstation installations at dental practices.

This is not a standard desktop deployment. Technicians must have previous experience supporting dental Practice Management Systems (PMS), X-ray/imaging applications, and associated dental peripherals and applications.

Important: Complete installation documentation may not currently exist for each dental office. Technicians must be capable of reviewing an existing workstation, identifying its applications and configuration, and independently determining the requirements necessary to reproduce that functionality on the replacement PC.

Technicians will also be responsible for creating and updating installation documentation for each site so that a repeatable runbook can be developed for future deployments.  this is a remote position  ** As part of our hiring process, candidates will be sent an email to complete a brief online assessment via our screening partner, Eximius. **

Responsibilities

• Replace and configure Windows PCs in active dental offices.
• Review the existing workstation before replacement to identify applications, settings, peripherals, printers, mapped drives, and dependencies.
• Install and configure dental PMS applications.
• Install and configure dental X-ray/imaging applications.
• Install required supporting dental-office applications.
• Configure connectivity to application, database, file, and imaging servers.
• Configure mapped drives, printers, shortcuts, and workstation-specific settings.
• Install and configure dental peripherals and required drivers.
• Migrate required user data and settings when applicable.
• Troubleshoot application, connectivity, licensing, driver, and peripheral issues.
• Coordinate with dental software vendors when necessary.
• Test applications and peripherals with office personnel before completing the installation.
• Document the installation process, configuration, issues, and resolutions.

Qualifications

Technicians must have hands-on experience installing and/or supporting dental applications.

Practice Management Systems (PMS)

Examples include:

• Dentrix / Dentrix Enterprise
• Eaglesoft
• Open Dental
• SoftDent
• Other comparable dental PMS platforms

Technicians should understand PMS workstation configuration, including server/database connectivity, mapped resources, printers, licensing, user permissions, and application integrations.

Dental X-Ray & Imaging Applications

Examples include:

• DEXIS
• Carestream / CS Imaging
• Sidexis
• Schick
• Eaglesoft Advanced Imaging
• Planmeca Romexis
• Vatech EzDent / Ez3D
• XDR
• Other comparable dental imaging platforms

Technicians should have experience installing and troubleshooting imaging applications, drivers, server/image paths, and associated devices.

Dental Peripherals & Supporting Applications

Experience supporting dental peripherals is required, including applicable:

• Digital X-ray sensors
• Intraoral cameras
• Panoramic/CBCT equipment
• Document and insurance card scanners
• Signature pads
• Local and network printers
• Label and receipt printers
• Other USB/network-connected dental equipment

Technicians should also be comfortable identifying and installing supporting applications such as patient communication, digital forms, insurance/claims, payment processing, scanning, e-prescribing, and other applications necessary for normal dental-office operations.

Limited Documentation / Independent Troubleshooting

Detailed step-by-step installation instructions may not be available.

Technicians must be capable of examining an existing working PC and determining how to reproduce its functionality on the replacement workstation.

This may include:

• Identifying applications and versions.
• Locating installers or coordinating with application vendors.
• Identifying server/database connections.
• Determining mapped drives, UNC paths, and imaging locations.
• Identifying required drivers and application dependencies.
• Determining licensing and activation requirements.
• Troubleshooting installation and configuration problems.
• Escalating to vendors or internal support when necessary.
