We are seeking a Patient Engagement Coordinator to help schedule referred patients for outpatient psychiatric care in a virtual setting. This role is essential in creating a welcoming, supportive first experience for patients entering care.
MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct outreach over the phone to educate potential patients on the services Precise Behavioral can provide along with providing guidance on benefits. This will include scheduling appointments with psychiatrists, behavioral health nurse practitioners and licensed clinical social workers, depending upon the patient’s needs and referred recommendations.
- Independently organize and prioritize your workload; problem solve to meet expected outreach and scheduling goals
- Utilize Precise Behavioral’s electronic medical record and other technology to track outreach and track member documentation and interaction accurately and efficiently.
- Work with others on the team to ensure a seamless transition to patient care.
- Provide feedback on strategies to improve the patient experience.
- Participate in virtual meetings, collaborate with other departments as needed.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 2 years of telephone customer service experience in a behavioral healthcare setting.
- Experience with case management and triage.
- Strong ability to have empathetic, compassionate conversations with patients with vulnerable healthcare needs.
- Experience with time management, critical thinking, and ability to multitask.
- Experience working in a startup environment.
- Comfort with remote work; however, only candidates who live in the Pacific time zone will be considered.
- Experience working in a collaborative care setting, including coordination between multiple providers and care teams.
- Knowledge of insurance verification, benefits explanation, HIPAA requirements, and communicating patient financial responsibilities.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and healthcare documentation requirements.
- Bilingual skills (Spanish/English).
