Pharvaris is a late-stage biopharmaceutical company developing novel, oral bradykinin B2 receptor antagonists to potentially address all types of bradykinin-mediated angioedema. The Pharvaris team is advancing new alternatives to injected therapies for the prevention and treatment of hereditary angioedema (HAE) attacks, and other bradykinin B2-receptor-mediated indications. HAE is a rare and potentially life-threatening genetic disease and people living with HAE can suffer sudden and prolonged attacks of swelling in multiple areas of the body, including the airway, which can be life-threatening.

We are excited to be building our commercial business infrastructure to prepare for our first commercial launch.  We are actively recruiting for the US Market Access Team, and we are looking for a dynamic and experienced Patient Access Liaison (PAL) to join our team and report to the Exec. Director, Patient Services.

The Patient Access Liaison (PAL) is a field-based, patient access and reimbursement specialist in high-touch role dedicated to helping patients and healthcare provider (HCP) offices understand and navigate the complexities of access to therapy. As a trusted resource and advocate, the PAL provides education, guidance, and support across product, insurance coverage, prior authorization, medical exceptions, appeals, affordability programs, and adherence to ensure patients can begin and continue therapy with confidence. 

The Patient Access Liaison (PAL) plays a crucial role in ensuring timely access to Pharvaris treatments for patients after receiving a prescription. This position is responsible for working directly with patients, caregivers, healthcare providers, Pharvaris distribution partners and patient services and other stakeholders to provide education and overcome barriers to access.

Location:

Pharvaris has offices in Switzerland (Zug), the Netherlands (Leiden) and the U.S. (greater Boston area) and, at Pharvaris, we promote and enable a flexible, hybrid work-environment and support our talent to be home based and work virtually. While this is a remote role, you must be located in the U.S. with a preference to be aligned with your assigned Zone.

Responsibilities

Leadership & Collaboration

• Partner with field leadership and patient services to define roles, workflows, and best practices.
• Support development of reimbursement and access training for field sales teams.
• Collaborate with patient services and trade and distribution teams to improve access processes and speed to therapy.
• Coordinate with HCPs and internal teams to support payer-required coverage information.

Patient Support & Journey Management

• Serve as the primary access resource for assigned patients, providing high-touch support throughout treatment.
• Deliver empathetic, patient-centered communication and build trusted relationships.
• Educate patients on treatment, adherence, and access-related challenges.
• Identify financial, reimbursement, and coverage support resources to reduce therapy delays.
• Conduct follow-ups to reinforce adherence and continuity of care.
• Coordinate with internal teams, specialty pharmacies, and case management partners to accelerate therapy access.

HCP & Office Staff Engagement

• Educate HCP offices on payer requirements, PA submissions, appeals, and coverage processes.
• Resolve patient-specific access barriers, including denied PAs and formulary restrictions.
• Support benefits investigations and interpretation of payer policies.
• Maintain compliant, professional engagement aligned with company and regulatory standards.

Access & Reimbursement Expertise

• Apply expertise in pharmacy benefit and specialty pharmacy workflows.
• Manage PA, appeals, and medical exception processes efficiently and accurately.
• Support appropriate use of copay assistance, bridge programs, and foundation resources.
• Monitor payer trends and implement strategies to reduce access barriers.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Serve as a liaison among Physician Engagement, Care Coordination, Market Access, and Trade teams.
• Share field insights on payer trends, access challenges, and patient experience gaps

Requirements

Education:

• 
  Bachelor’s degree preferred; clinical background in Healthcare Administration, Pharmacy, Nursing, or a related field strongly preferred.

Experience:

• 
  10+ years of experience in reimbursement, market access, patient services, or related healthcare roles; rare disease or orphan drug experience strongly preferred.
• 
  Direct patient-facing experience providing disease, product, reimbursement, and access education in complex healthcare environments.
• 
  Demonstrated ability to build processes, capabilities, or field functionality in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• 
  Strong knowledge of U.S. payer systems, reimbursement processes, prior authorization, appeals, specialty pharmacy workflows, and payer decision-making across Medicare, Medicaid, DoD, TRICARE, and commercial payers.
• 
  Proven success identifying and resolving reimbursement barriers to help patients initiate and continue therapy.

Pharvaris is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary range for this role is $155,000-$195,000 per year. Actual compensation will depend on various factors, including but not limited to depth of experience, skill set, overall performance, and education.
