Job Summary
Morris Technology Solutions (MTS) is seeking an experienced Oracle Health General Laboratory and Blood Bank Consultant to support healthcare clients with advisory services, system maintenance, optimization, and ongoing operational support. This role focuses on Oracle Health General Laboratory and Blood Bank, formerly known as Cerner PathNet General Laboratory and Blood Bank.
The Oracle Health General Laboratory and Blood Bank Consultant will be responsible for supporting laboratory information system operations across complex healthcare environments. This includes troubleshooting issues, implementing configuration changes, supporting system maintenance activities, managing change requests, and providing strategic guidance to clients on Oracle Health best practices. The ideal candidate is a self-directed consultant with deep laboratory information systems experience who can communicate effectively with both technical teams and clinical stakeholders while supporting multiple client environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide consulting services for Oracle Health General Laboratory and Blood Bank (formerly Cerner PathNet General Laboratory and Blood Bank) across client engagements
- Perform system maintenance, troubleshooting, configuration updates, and optimization activities to support laboratory and blood bank operations
- Lead and coordinate change management activities, including impact assessments, communication planning, and implementation support
- Evaluate, document, and implement client system build change requests
- Manage the ServiceNow request lifecycle, ensuring accurate tracking, prioritization, and resolution of incidents, requests, and enhancements
- Support clients operating within multi hub healthcare environments, providing guidance on system performance, scalability, and integration
- Analyze and resolve complex laboratory information system issues while maintaining system stability and operational efficiency
- Provide recommendations based on Oracle Health best practices and evolving product capabilities
- Collaborate with Morris Technology Solutions internal teams to ensure consistent, high quality service delivery
- Maintain documentation related to system configurations, support activities, and change management initiatives
Required Qualifications
- 5 to 10 years of experience supporting and/or implementing Oracle Health General Laboratory and Blood Bank (formerly Cerner PathNet General Laboratory and Blood Bank)
- Demonstrated experience supporting laboratory information systems within multi hub healthcare environments
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare, laboratory science, information technology, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and healthcare industry experience
- Strong understanding of laboratory workflows, laboratory information systems configuration, and operational support processes
- Experience working with ServiceNow or similar IT service management platforms
- Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with both technical teams and clinical stakeholders
- Ability to work independently in a fast paced, client facing consulting environment
Preferred Skills and Experience
- MT (Medical Technologist) or MLT (Medical Laboratory Technician) certification
- Experience supporting healthcare organizations with complex laboratory and blood bank operations
- Knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements impacting laboratory and blood bank workflows
- Previous consulting experience within healthcare technology or laboratory information systems environments
- Familiarity with Oracle Health product roadmap, enhancements, and integration considerations
- Experience supporting system optimization, workflow improvements, and operational best practices within laboratory information systems
