Partner with Portable Book of Business, All Practice Areas

About the Role

A full-service New Jersey law firm is seeking an experienced partner with a portable book of business to join its growing practice. Real estate is a priority, though partners across practice areas are encouraged to bring their clients and build their practices on a collaborative platform.

What You'll Do

• Bring and grow your portable client book while developing cross-selling opportunities across the firm's practice areas.

• Work with the firm's marketing professionals to develop and execute a business development plan.

• Mentor and train associates and counsel working on your matters.

• For real estate partners with a substantial book, consider opportunities for department leadership as senior leadership transitions.

• Serve clients with a business-oriented approach, including strategic counseling, efficient service, and value creation.

What We're Looking For

• 8 to 15 years of experience as a partner.

• A portable book with at least $500,000 in documented originations over the past 2 to 3 years, based on your own clients rather than relationship credit.

• Experience in New Jersey commercial or transactional real estate; real estate and land use partners are especially relevant.

• A client book that clears conflicts, a stable career history, and billing rates appropriate for a New Jersey platform.

• A collegial, collaborative approach to negotiating, billing, and client relationships.

• New York real estate experience and a book of $1 million or more, experience bringing an attorney team, or New Jersey residency may also be relevant.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $250,000 to $500,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Fully remote, with New York, New York as the primary location.
