Job Details: Position Type: Adjunct Faculty, Salary Range: $500.00 - $1200.00Salary, Graduate Online Synchronous Course in Special Education Course Title: Curriculum Design and Assessment  Course Description: Using a case study approach, students learn to select, construct, use and interpret non-discriminatory and developmentally appropriate assessments relevant to diverse learners with mild and moderate disabilities. The Massachusetts Frameworks are used to guide decisions in both curriculum and instruction and ways to prepare and maintain students in general education. Course assignments are designed to help students gain an understanding of educational terminology utilized with students with special needs; and differentiated instruction and ways to implement meaningful instruction for all students, especially students with disabilities by designing and modifying curriculum and instructional materials. Compensation: $500 - $1,200 per credit. Adjunct faculty rates vary, depending on academic discipline and the course's credit load and level. Qualifications: Special Education Course Instructors must meet the following criteria:  Hold a current Massachusetts Educator Professional License in Moderate Disabilities, Severe Disabilities, or a closely related field.  A minimum of a Master's Degree in Special Education or a closely related field Minimum of 5 years teaching in special education within a K12 public school setting A minimum of 3 years administering, scoring, and interpreting assessments within special education.  Available to hold weekly virtual Zoom class meetings. Ability to adhere to University policies and procedures. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and within FERPA and HIPAA guidelines. All new employees must complete the FERPA, Anti-Harassment, and any other required online trainings within 15 days of employment. General knowledge of the University’s mission, purpose, and goals and the role this position plays in achieving those goals.
