The ideal candidate is exceptionally connected within the VA ecosystem, understands federal procurement processes, and has recent, active experience working across several VISNs and other major VA networks throughout the eastern United States. This role requires a strong combination of strategic leadership, sales execution, and deep knowledge of the VA healthcare landscape.

What you’ll do  

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Commercial and working as part of a cross-functional team, the National Sales Manager – East is responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding strategic relationships, and leading commercial execution across the Veterans Affairs (VA) healthcare system within the Eastern United States.

 

This is a highly strategic and hands-on leadership role that combines direct sales responsibility with team leadership. The National Sales Manager will serve as a key commercial leader, supporting regional sales representatives and strategic partners while working closely with Orpyx leadership to expand access to innovative diabetic foot care and remote monitoring solutions that improve patient outcomes and reduce healthcare costs.

 

This includes:  

  

Strategic Sales Leadership

  • Develop and execute regional sales strategies to achieve and exceed revenue targets across assigned VA territories.
  • Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities within Veterans Affairs Medical Centers (VAMCs), Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs), and affiliated healthcare systems.
  • Lead complex sales cycles involving clinical, operational, procurement, contracting, and executive stakeholders.
  • Drive adoption of Orpyx's medical device, remote patient monitoring, and clinical service solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, including VISN leadership, prosthetics departments, podiatry services, wound care teams, telehealth leaders, rehabilitation services, and executive leadership.

 

Team Leadership & Development

  • Provide leadership, coaching, mentorship, and field support to Account Executives
  • Partner with the SVP, Commercial and Director, Business Development to develop account strategies, remove barriers, and accelerate opportunities.
  • Conduct regular field visits, joint customer meetings, and sales reviews.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, customer focus, and performance excellence.
  • Support onboarding, training, and professional development initiatives for commercial team members.

 

VA & Strategic Account Management

  • Develop and execute account plans for key VA and government healthcare accounts.
  • Establish long-term relationships with VISN and facility leadership to position Orpyx as a trusted clinical and operational partner.
  • Monitor and influence federal procurement opportunities, contract vehicles, and funding pathways.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure successful implementation, customer satisfaction, and account growth.
  • Support national contracting initiatives and strategic partnerships as required.

 

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Collaborate with Clinical Affairs, Customer Care, Operations, Marketing, Market Access and Executive Leadership to drive customer success.
  • Provide market intelligence regarding competitive activity, policy changes, funding opportunities, and evolving customer needs.
  • Participate in industry conferences, VA events, and professional associations to expand Orpyx's presence and influence.
  • Deliver executive-level presentations and business reviews to customers and stakeholders.

 

Operational Excellence

  • Maintain accurate forecasting and opportunity management through CRM systems.
  • Develop and manage regional business plans, sales forecasts, and performance metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, quality management requirements, and applicable healthcare regulations.

  • Perform duties in a manner that is consistent with and committed to upholding the requirements of the quality management system

 

Additionally, due to the ever-changing and sometimes chaotic environment of an early-stage high-tech company, the National Sales Manager East may assume additional responsibilities, as required.

 

What you’ll bring  

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Healthcare Administration, Life Sciences, or related field or equivalent
  • Minimum 10 years of successful medical device, healthcare technology, or healthcare services sales experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience selling directly into the Veterans Affairs healthcare system
  • Demonstrated experience actively working within Eastern U.S. VA markets
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets within complex healthcare environments
  • Prior leadership experience managing, mentoring, or leading sales professionals
  • Strong understanding of federal procurement, VA contracting, and government healthcare purchasing processes
  • Experience selling remote patient monitoring (RPM), digital health solutions, medical devices, prosthetics, wound care, diabetes care, or related healthcare technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to build executive-level relationships and influence strategic healthcare decisions
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms and sales analytics tools

 

The details  

 

Employment status:  Regular full-time at will employment.

 

Schedule: Full time, Monday to Friday. Peaks and valleys may be required periodically, depending on operational needs.


Compensation: Starting base salary ranges from $105,000 to $200,000 per year. On-target variable compensation is approximately 30% of base salary. Final title and compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, qualifications, and geographic location. For exceptional candidates, consideration may be given to a more senior title and/or compensation.

 

Work location: Remote. Must be located in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Southern New Jersey, West Virginia, Ohio, or Maryland.
