The Mitigator III manages mortgage modification program cases from intake through final resolution. This role gathers and validates borrower and case information, prepares and reviews loss mitigation submissions, administers Portal activity and deadlines, facilitates communications and conferences, documents compliance, prepares required reports and court filings, and maintains complete and confidential case records. The Mitigator III serves as a knowledgeable, neutral point of coordination for borrowers, counsel, creditors and servicers, trustees, and the Court, while training and supporting team members in established procedures.
1. Manage assigned mortgage modification program matters from intake and case setup through final resolution.
2. Schedule and conduct client interviews; gather and validate required bankruptcy, household, employment, income, expense, and mortgage information; and assist with applications, questionnaires, and forms.
3. Review data and supporting documentation for completeness, accuracy, and currency, and promptly resolve missing, stale, inconsistent, or incorrect information.
4. Prepare, assemble, and quality-control Initial MMP Packages and other loss mitigation submissions; upload documentation through the Portal; and coordinate required notices and court filings.
5. Apply MMP rules, procedures, forms, deadlines, participant responsibilities, creditor documentation requirements, and available loss mitigation options when guiding participants and administering cases.
6. Support access to and use of the Court-approved Portal and Document Preparation System, troubleshoot workflow questions, and create or update user guides and support materials.
7. Monitor Portal communications, case activity, participant obligations, and case-specific deadlines, taking appropriate action to keep each matter progressing toward a decision.
8. Prepare for, schedule, and conduct MMP conferences as needed; coordinate with parties and counsel; issue required advance notice; and document conference activity in the Portal.
9. Identify and objectively document non-compliance, preserve supporting evidence, prepare required certificates and reports for Court review, and escalate delays, unresolved disputes, or failures to prosecute.
10. Monitor trial loan modifications through execution of a final modification or denial, maintaining appropriate Portal access and case oversight throughout the trial period.
11. Maintain complete and confidential case notes, ECF updates, status records, reports, correspondence, and other program documentation; coordinate with approved outside professionals when directed.
12. Train, coach, and supervise team members on assigned procedures, quality standards, and workflows, and maintain supporting process and training documentation.
13. Work independently, manage a high-volume caseload and competing deadlines, support required operating coverage, and complete assigned projects and operational reporting.
