Microsoft Modern Work Engineer (Azure)

SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced Microsoft Modern Work Engineer (Azure) with a strong background in Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure, hybrid identity, endpoint modernization, and cloud transformation projects.

This role requires a hands-on engineer who can work across Microsoft Modern Work and Azure-connected environments, supporting organizations transitioning from traditional on-premises Microsoft infrastructure to modern cloud and hybrid environments.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience working with Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, Intune, Exchange, SharePoint, Active Directory, and Windows Server, with demonstrated experience delivering implementations, migrations, and modernization projects in production environments.

Experience in managed services, consulting, or project-based delivery environments is highly preferred.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Microsoft Modern Work & Azure

• Design, implement, maintain, and optimize Microsoft 365 and Azure-connected Modern Work solutions.
  
• Administer and support Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Microsoft Teams, Entra ID, and Intune.
  
• Support cloud and hybrid solutions involving Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365.
  
• Configure and manage Conditional Access, MFA, identity governance, device compliance, application deployment, and endpoint security.
  
• Implement and support Microsoft Defender and Microsoft Security solutions.
  
• Utilize PowerShell for automation, reporting, configuration management, and operational efficiency.
  

Hybrid Identity & Infrastructure

• Design and support hybrid environments integrating Active Directory with Microsoft Entra ID.
  
• Configure and troubleshoot Entra Connect Sync.
  
• Administer Windows Server, Active Directory Domain Services, Group Policy, and DNS.
  
• Support Exchange Server 2019/Subscription Edition and Exchange hybrid environments.
  
• Design and implement Cloud Kerberos Trust and modern authentication.
  
• Support migration from traditional domain-joined environments to modern cloud identity and endpoint solutions.
  

Cloud Migration & Modernization

Lead or participate in projects involving:

• Hybrid-to-cloud Microsoft infrastructure transformation.
  
• Active Directory to Entra ID modernization.
  
• Exchange Server to Exchange Online migration.
  
• Windows file share migrations to SharePoint Online.
  
• Personal drive migrations to OneDrive for Business.
  
• Domain-joined device migrations to Entra ID.
  
• Intune onboarding and endpoint modernization.
  
• Windows Autopilot, including hybrid deployments.
  
• Microsoft 365 migration and modernization initiatives.
  

Technical Leadership

• Lead technical workstreams across cloud and Modern Work projects.
  
• Provide advanced troubleshooting for Microsoft 365, Azure-connected, identity, endpoint, and hybrid infrastructure solutions.
  
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement long-term remediation.
  
• Assess client environments and recommend improvements in security, governance, performance, and cloud readiness.
  
• Create technical documentation, standards, migration runbooks, and implementation guides.
  
• Mentor junior engineers and technical support teams.

Requirements

·         5+ years of hands-on Microsoft Modern Work, Microsoft 365, Azure, or hybrid Microsoft experience.

·         Strong hands-on experience with:

o    Microsoft Azure

o    Microsoft 365

o    Microsoft Entra ID

o    Microsoft Intune

o    Exchange Online

o    SharePoint Online

o    OneDrive

o    Microsoft Teams

o    Conditional Access / MFA

o    Windows Autopilot

·         Strong hybrid infrastructure knowledge including:

o    Active Directory Domain Services

o    Windows Server

o    Entra Connect Sync

o    Group Policy

o    DNS

o    Exchange hybrid

·         Experience delivering hybrid-to-cloud or Microsoft 365 migration projects.

·         Strong PowerShell experience.

·         Strong troubleshooting and technical solution design skills.

·         Ability to independently own technical implementation workstreams.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

·         MSP, consulting, or professional services experience.

·         Microsoft Defender / Defender for Endpoint experience.

·         Microsoft Purview experience.

·         Microsoft Copilot implementation or readiness experience.

·         Microsoft certifications such as AZ-104, MS-102, SC-300, MD-102, or SC-100.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

·         Should be willing to accept a long-term work-from-home arrangement.

·         Should be amenable to a permanent night shift schedule.
