Paid Ads Specialist – Google & Meta

Employment: Full-time
Primary Markets: Australia / APAC

The Role

We're looking for an experienced Paid Ads Specialist with strong hands-on capability across Google Ads and Meta Ads, particularly within e-commerce.

This isn't simply a campaign management and reporting role. We're looking for someone who can own accounts, identify opportunities, and help grow our clients' businesses.

The right person should naturally be able to say:

"Here's what I'm seeing. Here's the opportunity or problem, here's why I think it's happening, and here's what I recommend we do next."

Paid media doesn't operate in isolation. Sometimes the biggest opportunity isn't inside Google or Meta—it could be creative, CRO, the website, product feed, pricing, landing pages, tracking, or another part of the customer journey.

We want someone curious enough to identify that.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and execute paid media strategies across Google and Meta.
  • Build, manage, and optimize Google Search, Shopping, Performance Max, Demand Gen, and remarketing campaigns.
  • Build and scale Meta acquisition, prospecting, and retargeting campaigns.
  • Identify opportunities to increase revenue, acquire customers, and improve profitability.
  • Develop testing strategies across campaigns, audiences, creative, messaging, offers, and landing pages.
  • Analyze ROAS, CPA/CAC, AOV, CVR, CTR, CPC, revenue, and broader commercial performance.
  • Use GA4 and GTM to understand customer behavior, measurement, and conversion tracking.
  • Diagnose performance issues across advertising, creative, tracking, and the wider customer journey.
  • Turn data into clear insights, hypotheses, and recommendations.
  • Work collaboratively with CRO, UX, development, SEO, creative, and analytics teams.
  • Communicate performance, challenges, and growth opportunities directly with clients.

What We're Looking For

Google Ads

Strong hands-on Google Ads capability is essential, including:

  • Search
  • Shopping
  • Performance Max
  • Demand Gen
  • Remarketing
  • Merchant Center and product feeds
  • Keyword/search-term strategy
  • Audience, bidding, and budget strategy
  • Conversion tracking

You should be capable of independently taking ownership of a meaningful Google Ads account.

Meta Ads

Strong hands-on capability across:

  • Prospecting and customer acquisition
  • Retargeting
  • Campaign and audience strategy
  • Creative and messaging testing
  • Budget allocation and scaling
  • Attribution and conversion tracking
  • Creative performance analysis

You don't need to create the assets yourself, but you should know what creative needs to be tested next and why.

GA4, GTM & Analytics

Strong working knowledge of GA4 and Google Tag Manager is required.

We're looking for someone who understands data rather than simply reports it.

If ROAS falls, we don't just want to know that it fell. We want someone who investigates why—looking at acquisition costs, conversion rate, AOV, creative, landing pages, product availability, feeds, tracking, attribution, and other potential causes.

Your thinking should naturally move through:

Data → Insight → Hypothesis → Recommendation → Action → Commercial Outcome

E-commerce & Commercial Thinking

Strong e-commerce experience is highly preferred. Experience with Shopify / Shopify Plus and/or Adobe Commerce / Magento is valuable.

You should understand how paid media connects to the broader customer journey:

Ad → Landing Page → Product → Cart → Checkout → Purchase → Retention

We're looking for someone who thinks about profitable business growth, not simply Google or Meta ROAS.

Strategic Account Ownership

This is one of the most important parts of the role.

We're more interested in depth of ownership than the number of accounts you've managed.

Managing a large portfolio isn't necessarily evidence of strategic capability if the work primarily involved monitoring, routine optimization, and reporting.

We want someone who can demonstrate:

Problem → Insight → Recommendation → Action → Result

You should be able to give examples where you personally identified an opportunity, developed the recommendation, and helped deliver a measurable commercial outcome.

Ideal Candidate

You'll ideally bring:

  • 5+ years of paid media experience.
  • Strong Google Ads and Meta Ads capability.
  • Strong working knowledge of GA4 and GTM.
  • Meaningful e-commerce experience.
  • Strong understanding of tracking and attribution.
  • Experience managing meaningful advertising budgets.
  • Strong analytical and commercial thinking.
  • Confidence in communicating directly with clients.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • A proactive, curious, and accountable approach.
