About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Siemens Opcenter MES Developer to join our digital manufacturing team and play a key role in the design, development, implementation, and support of Manufacturing Execution System (MES) solutions for discrete manufacturing environments.

In this role, you will be responsible for configuring and customizing Siemens Opcenter MES, integrating shop-floor and enterprise systems, and delivering scalable solutions that enhance manufacturing performance, quality, traceability, and operational efficiency. You will collaborate closely with manufacturing, automation, and IT stakeholders to support Industry 4.0 initiatives and drive digital transformation across production operations.

On a given day, as an MES Developer you will:

  • Design, configure, and customize Siemens Opcenter MES solutions to support discrete manufacturing operations.
  • Develop and maintain MES functionalities including production management, quality processes, material tracking, genealogy, traceability, and work instructions.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, automation, and IT teams to translate business requirements into scalable MES solutions.
  • Integrate Opcenter MES with ERP, PLM, and shop-floor systems using APIs, web services, OPC UA, and other integration technologies.
  • Develop customizations, extensions, and reports using C#, .NET, SQL Server, and Opcenter development tools.
  • Support the full project lifecycle, including requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application, integration, and performance-related issues, providing L2/L3 support when required.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to optimize manufacturing processes and system performance.
  • Support cloud-based and hybrid MES environments, ensuring security, scalability, reliability, and high availability.
  • Contribute to Industry 4.0 and digital manufacturing initiatives across multiple production sites.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years of experience in MES/MOM environments, including at least 3 years of hands-on experience with Siemens Opcenter MES in discrete manufacturing.
  • Strong experience configuring, customizing, and supporting Siemens Opcenter MES solutions.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing execution systems, discrete manufacturing processes, and shop-floor operations.
  • Proven experience integrating MES platforms with ERP, PLM, SCADA, and automation systems.
  • Proficiency in C#, .NET, SQL Server, REST APIs, web services, and related integration technologies.
  • Working knowledge of ISA-95, manufacturing workflows, and digital process modeling principles.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and/or AWS, preferably within MES or industrial environments.
  • Exposure to OPC UA, MQTT, middleware technologies, and industrial connectivity solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field; Siemens Opcenter or MES-related certifications are considered an advantage.

Nice if you have:

  • Experience working with Azure IaaS/PaaS services, AWS, or other cloud-based manufacturing platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, containers, and modern deployment practices.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies for MES application deployments.
  • Experience integrating Siemens Opcenter with Teamcenter, SAP, Oracle, or other enterprise systems.
  • Knowledge of PLC and SCADA systems such as Siemens S7, WinCC, or similar industrial automation platforms.
  • Exposure to Industry 4.0, Industrial IoT (IIoT), Smart Factory, or Digital Manufacturing initiatives.
  • Experience supporting multi-site or global MES deployments in complex manufacturing environments.
  • Understanding of ISA-88 standards and manufacturing process modeling.
  • Experience working in regulated industries and familiarity with GxP validation requirements.
  • Siemens Opcenter, MES/MOM, cloud, or industrial automation certifications are considered a strong advantage.
