Our client is a growing commercial construction company specializing in delivering high-quality mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) solutions for large-scale commercial projects. They partner with developers, general contractors, and project teams to deliver accurate project planning, competitive bids, and cost-effective construction solutions. As the company continues to expand, they are seeking an MEP Estimator to support estimating efforts across a variety of commercial construction projects.

Role Overview

The MEP Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate take-offs, developing cost estimates, and supporting bid submissions for commercial mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems. The MEP Estimator will review construction drawings, calculate material and labor costs, collaborate with project teams, and utilize estimating software to ensure accurate and competitive proposals. This role is ideal for someone with strong commercial construction estimating experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

Estimating & Take-Offs

• Perform detailed take-offs for commercial MEP systems, primarily plumbing and electrical.

• Prepare accurate cost estimates for commercial construction projects.

• Review construction drawings and specifications.

• Calculate material, labor, and equipment costs.

• Ensure estimates are accurate and complete.

Bidding & Proposal Support

• Collaborate with project managers to prepare competitive bids.

• Identify project risks and incorporate contingencies into estimates.

• Support timely bid preparation and submission.

• Assist in evaluating project opportunities.

Estimating Software & Documentation

• Utilize PlanHub, BuildConnect, Bluebeam, and Stack for estimating and take-offs.

• Maintain organized project documentation and estimating records.

• Improve estimating accuracy through effective software utilization.

• Support standardized estimating workflows.

Collaboration & Project Support

• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and contractors.

• Clarify project scope and estimating requirements.

• Provide cost breakdowns to support procurement and project planning.

• Contribute to project feasibility discussions and scheduling recommendations.

Qualifications Experience

• 2+ years of experience as an MEP Estimator.

• Experience estimating commercial construction projects.

• Experience preparing take-offs for plumbing and electrical systems.

• Experience reviewing construction drawings and specifications.

• Experience supporting competitive bid preparation.

Qualifications Skills

• Strong knowledge of commercial plumbing systems.

• Strong knowledge of commercial electrical systems.

• Proficiency with PlanHub.

• Proficiency with BuildConnect.

• Proficiency with Bluebeam.

• Proficiency with Stack.

• Strong estimating and quantity take-off skills.
