Provide evidence-based therapy to members via a video platform while managing a personal caseload and clinical documentation. Participate in regular supervision and specialized training to meet the requirements for independent diagnostic authority.

About the Role

NOCD is looking for independently licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHC) and Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT) in New York who are on the pathway to earning their Diagnostic Privilege (Dx P) but have not yet completed the full 2,000 hours of supervised experience required by New York State.

This role is designed for candidates who already qualify for the Diagnostic Privilege in every respect except the completion of supervised hours. NOCD will provide the qualified clinical supervision needed to complete your remaining hours while you build a caseload and gain specialized training in OCD and related disorders with a clear path to full Dx P and independent diagnostic authority.

What You'll Do

  • Provide evidence-based therapy to Members with OCD via the NOCD video platform, under the required clinical supervision toward your Diagnostic Privilege
  • Manage your own caseload and schedule
  • Maintain complete, timely clinical documentation in the NOCD EHR
  • Participate in regular supervision sessions focused on diagnosis, psychotherapy, and assessment-based treatment planning — the core competencies required for Dx P
  • Participate in NOCD clinical consultation and specialized ERP/OCD training
  • Collaborate with NOCD's network of providers to develop and reinforce treatment decisions

Requirements — Diagnostic Privilege Pathway

To be eligible for this role, candidates must qualify for the New York Diagnostic Privilege in all respects, with the sole exception of completing the required supervised experience hours:

  • Full, unrestricted NY license as an LMHC or LMFT
  • At least 1,000 of the 2,000 required hours of supervised direct client contact already completed — experience must include diagnosis, psychotherapy, and the development of assessment-based treatment plans, in a setting acceptable to NYSED
  • Qualifying graduate coursework already completed covering NYSED's four required content areas (diagnosis and assessment-based treatment planning; assessment, evaluation and diagnosis using accepted classification systems; developing and implementing assessment-based treatment plans; and clinical interventions with diverse populations), as reflected on your official transcript
  • Able to secure third-party certification of the above — your graduate program's registrar and a qualified supervisor or licensed colleague must be willing to complete and submit the certification sections of NYSED Forms 2D and 4D on your behalf (see the accompanying one-pager for details)
  • Practical experience independently diagnosing is required (may be satisfied during pre-licensed supervised experience)
  • At least 6 months of relevant experience with evidence-based therapies (e.g., ERP, CBT, ACT)
  • Knowledge and experience treating OCD with ERP preferred but not required

Please note: an offer of employment for this role is contingent upon the accurate and complete submission of the relevant clinical portions of New York State Education Department Forms 2D (Certification of Education) and 4D (Certification of Experience) by your graduate program's registrar and your qualified supervisor or licensed colleague.

What NOCD Provides

  • A qualified clinical supervisor who holds the Diagnostic Privilege in your profession, to supervise and attest to your remaining hours toward the 2,000-hour requirement
  • Support navigating the NYSED application and certification process
  • World-class ERP/OCD-specific clinical training and ongoing consultation
  • Dedicated teams handling marketing, billing, credentialing, and scheduling
  • 1:1 mentorship for complex cases

Full-Time Provider Expectations

  • 40-hour work week; 25 hours of direct clinical work per week
  • 2 hours of weekly group clinical consultation
  • 10 hours of weeknight/weekend availability after 5pm local time
  • Completion of cross-license application process during onboarding
  • Open and willing to treat children and adolescents after NOCD's Child & Adolescent training

Who You Are

  • Masters Degree required
  • Full and unrestricted license in good standing to practice in New York (LMHC or LMFT)
  • Organized, quick and enthusiastic learner; excellent communicator; strong time management
  • A confidential, private location to work remotely from with reliable internet access
  • Comfortable and efficient with technology
  • Ambitious and ready to keep up with a goal-driven, start-up environment

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation with a robust bonus program
  • Base Salary Comp Range in New York = $70,000 – $95,000
  • Bonus Program = $12,400 per year earned on average by those eligible
  • Comprehensive benefits: medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) match for qualifying employees
  • Generous PTO; 12 weeks fully paid parental leave (primary caregiver), 6 weeks (secondary caregiver) for qualifying full-time employees
  • A clear career path, including full independent Diagnostic Privilege upon completion of your remaining supervised hours

Employment for this role is contingent upon accurate completion of the required clinical certification sections of NYSED Forms 2D and 4D; NOCD is unable to guarantee hire based solely on submission of these forms.
