About the Role
 
The Medical Director of Radiation Oncology is responsible for providing clinical oncology expertise regarding radiation oncology treatments. This Medical Director is a lead subject matter expert in the realm of radiation oncology. Primary activities include prior authorization reviews and strategic guidance of radiation oncology-focused product development projects. This is a part-time position with an expected commitment of approximately 5 hours per week.
 
Primary Responsibilities
  • Perform prior authorization reviews of radiotherapy treatment requests 
  • Conduct prior authorization protocol reviews and generate evidence-based decisions that are timely and concordant with regulatory requirements
  • Conduct peer-to-peer consultations with treating physicians
  • Review and respond to grievances and appeals
  • Interact effectively with and educate non-clinical personnel involved in the prior authorization process
  • Strategically guide radiation oncology-focused product development projects
  • Collaborate closely with other clinicians and the product management team to optimize the electronic system used in case processing and review
  • Quality improvement activities 
  • Review operational and clinical data related to the radiation oncology prior authorization program and identify strengths and areas of improvement
  • Propose and execute clinically oriented projects designed to improve quality
  • Engage with prospective and current customers to educate them about OncoHealth capabilities and expertise 
About You
  • Medical Doctor or comparable degree required
  • Board certification in radiation oncology and current unrestricted Medical Doctor license in good standing recognized in the United States
  • 3-5 years of independent radiation oncology clinical practice experience required, including patient care experience within the past 2 years
  • Radiation oncology utilization management experience is preferred
  • Systems/Tools: MS Office Suite proficient

OncoHealth is committed to remote, hybrid or in office work options.  The majority of the team will be remote or in hybrid work arrangements with offices in Atlanta, GA and Guaynabo, PR.  We are open to employees nationwide but work primarily in the Eastern and Central Time Zones.

Our Current Solutions

Through the use of OncoHealth's utilization management system, OneUM, our customers can use a single e-Prior Authorization portal for all oncology drug request and treatments.
