Our programs offer a full continuum of care and are recognized for their clinical excellence and compassionate approach. We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Admissions team as a Medical Coordinator, helping ensure that prospective clients are medically appropriate for care and receive a safe and smooth transition into treatment.

 

The Admissions Medical Coordinator (RN) plays a critical role in the pre-admission process by conducting thorough medical reviews for incoming prospective clients. This individual will collaborate closely with the admissions, clinical, and medical leadership teams to evaluate the medical and psychiatric stability and appropriateness of potential admissions across levels of care.

 

Pay: $43-$48/hour (depending on experience)

Responsibilities Include:

  • Review medical documentation submitted for prospective clients, including but not limited to:
    • Vitals
    • Height, weight, and growth charts
    • Laboratory results
    • Medication lists
    • Medical history and physicals
    • ECG/EKG reports and other diagnostic data
    • Mental Status Exams
    • Bio-psycho-social history
  • Assess medical appropriateness for the level of care being considered.
  • Consult with internal medical leadership (physicians, NPs) when a case falls under yellow/red criteria per internal guidelines.
  • Present all red level cases to medical leadership for approval or denial for admission.
  • Communicate medical clearance decisions and requests for additional information to the admissions team.
  • Provide recommendations related to level of care and necessary medical follow-up.
  • Help coordinate medical information exchange between external providers and Monte Nido’s clinical and medical teams.
  • Speak with outpatient providers, as needed, to gather additional clinical information.
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation of all medical reviews within the admissions platform or electronic health record.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary admissions team meetings and contribute clinical insight to decision-making discussions.
  • Stay current on medical criteria relevant to eating disorder treatment, including risk factors and red flags related to medical instability.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with an active and unencumbered license (required).
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in eating disorder care and/or admissions/triage settings.
  • Strong understanding of medical indicators related to eating disorders and general medical stability.
  • Excellent clinical judgment and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable using technology and electronic health systems.
